Soccer, what can I say? I've been playing since I was four years old. My parents saw the vision, and they planted and watered that vision. Sometimes, people say that I'm too extreme, but- I call it passion. I race around the field, kicking the ball until it goes straight into the goal. Or so I thought...

Tanner fucking Bishop. That asshole kicks the ball out of my path right as it was about to go into the goal.

We're practicing, so we're competing against each other. I race after Tanner, trying to get the ball back, but-

"GOAL!" the coach yells, and my face starts to burn.

That raggedy-ass bitch.

We take five for water so we don't have a heat stroke, and I walk over to the water cooler, bumping Tanner as I do.

"Bro? What the fuck is your problem?" he asks as I pour myself some water into a disposable cup.

"Right now? You."

I chug my water before crushing the cup in my hand.

"Tsk." He grins. "Did I hurt your ego, dick? Sorry- I didn't realize that I had to bow down to His Majesty to play a fucking game. Who the fuck do you think you are-"

He stops when I grab his fucking shirt.

"I'm your team captain-" I push him back, causing him to take a couple of steps backward.

"Ah- team captain who seems to be abusing his power? Watch out. I may take over." He walks around me and grabs a disposable cup.

"Hahahahaha-" I throw my head back before looking back at him with a smirk. "Motherfucker, I'll kill you-"

"Skylar! My office! After practice!" Coach scolds.

I click my tongue.

Tanner better watch his fuckin' back because I ain't playing with him.

Tanner's POV.

Today was the best day of my whole life! Skylar got scolded and benched by the coach because he's a psychotic fucking loser who walks around telling people he'll kill them, and-

"Tanner!"

I open my arms when my little half-brother, Rain, runs into them.

So, long story short, my dad cheated on my mom when I was a year old. He got so drunk that he couldn't even remember any of it, but he woke up next to some woman. He immediately came home and told my mom about it, and they broke up for like three weeks. But my mom decided that she loved my dad, and he swore to her that it would never happen again.

And it didn't.

But- I don't know... three months later, the woman found my dad and told him that she was pregnant with his kid. My mom didn't believe it. Denial is a river in Egypt, so when the baby was born, they got a DNA test done.

And yeah, he was 99.9 percent my father's.

My dad decided that he didn't want to be a deadbeat, so he took care of Rain from a distance.

But now his mom is sick, so my dad stepped up even more and let him move in with us. He's seventeen and in the eleventh grade, while I'm eighteen and in the twelfth.

Rain and I are close. Even though my mom was pissed at my dad, she never treated Rain any differently. In fact, Rain calls Mom "Mrs. Mom" and calls Dad "Dad." And Mom calls Rain her other baby.

He used to come stay with us every other weekend, and sometimes during spring and fall breaks. Even our little sister, who's eleven, loves him. Her name is Emma.

But the thing about Rain is...

He's openly gay and probably watched his mom a little too much because his makeup is on point today.

That's, um- the best way I know how to describe it without coming off as homophobic, because I'm not. I support Rain, and I love him. But I definitely don't want him coming to school and getting picked on.

Look at me. People are threatening to kill me just because I'm playing soccer. I can't imagine what they'd say if they saw Rain.

I'm scared for him.

"Rain, I- can you maybe not wear the makeup to school?" I ask.

His first day is tomorrow, and- I just want him to be okay.

"Haha- no." He crosses his arms. "If someone doesn't like my makeup, they can tell me to my face that they don't like it. I'm not scared of people at school. Do you think they're any different from the kids at my old school? Besides, I do it to express myself. I'm that guy. The guy who's going to look good while kicking someone's teeth in!"

He smiles, showing off his braces. His hair falls into his eyes and curls around his ears, and the glitter sparkles a little too brightly.

"Also, my followers expect a tutorial on TikTok, and I need all the practice I can get," he continues.

Oh, God...

Him and his 8.3K followers, all because they think he's pretty.

Half of the comments are asking for tutorials. Some are dudes begging him to inbox them, while the rest are telling him boys don't wear makeup.

But on a serious note, "You know you can tell me if any of these assholes are mean to you, right? Because I can handle them," I tell him.

He looks down at his phone before putting it away in his back pocket. "I really am fine, Tanner. Trust me. I may be gay, but I'm still a guy."

I chuckle and wrap my arm around his neck. "Want me to give you a tour? I already asked the principal, and she said it was fine-"

"A tour of the guys?" He smiles, but I grumble.

We head inside.

"Obviously, this is the office," I tell him as we walk down the hall together, motioning toward it with my hand.

"Why is the school already so big?" he asks.

I explain that because this school is really popular for sports and everything, there are a lot of students who want to come here.

"They even have a gymnastics team... not sure if you'd be-"

"NO FUCKING WAY!" he screams, causing me to chuckle because I knew he was going to be interested. "Take me there!"

He grabs my hand and starts running off like he knows the way.

I tug him to the left when he tries to go right.

"Calm yourself down!" I smile. "So, this way is the-"

We pause when we hear-

"TANNER!"

Oh, fuck.

My face slams into the wall as Skylar stands behind me.

"You're so fucking dead!" he hisses.

Skylar's POV.

Because of this little bitch, I get to sit out on the first game.

I slam his face against the wall before I start beating the fuck out of the back of his head with my fist.

He manages to turn around, and I pop him in the face before he starts throwing hands. Soon, we're in a full-blown fistfight.

Unfortunately, I know his fucking head hurts right now, and he stumbles a little, giving me the advantage. I put him in a headlock and start beating his ass in the head again.

"Hey!"

I hear someone shout when they suddenly jump on my back, wrapping their arms around my throat.

I let go of Tanner before throwing my back against the wall, hearing the guy groan a little. I push him off my back before turning around. Right when he stands up, I grab him by the throat and slam him against the wall with a thud.

I stare at him, pausing when he looks up at me with deep chocolate brown eyes. His full lips part as he takes a breath, and his throat clenches beneath the palm of my hand as he swallows.

I breathe heavily as I stare down at him.

What in the Twink...

Damn.

He's fine.

He studies me for a moment until I drop to my knees. The impact of his knee driving itself into my balls brings me back to the moment.

"Oh my fucking gmmmmmmm-"

I feel fingers in my hair when my head is snatched back. I look up to see the guy glaring down at me, leaning in just a bit.

"Didn't anyone tell you that-mm. A dude should never hit another dude in the balls?!" I snap.

"Well, you shouldn't have been messing with my brother, and then you wouldn't have had to worry about it, now would you?" He tilts his head, a little bit of hair falling over his eyes.

I stare up at him.

This is that little reject's brother?

I knew he had a sister, but... wait, where did he even come from?!

I hold myself as I sit on my knees when I suddenly hear-

"Hey! Leave my boyfriend alone!"

I snap my head over, causing this guy to let go of my hair when we see Ainsley running down the hall.

She's mixed and only 4'11". She's tiny, but she's adorable. But right now is not the time for her to be calling me her boyfriend...

It's adorable any other time, but right now-this guy...

I look up at him as he raises an eyebrow when Ainsley makes it over.

"Step back!" she demands.

"And I will... as soon as he apologizes to my brother," the guy says, causing me to stand up.

Fuck... this hurts more than I thought it would.

Once I'm standing fully, I take a breath.

"I'm not apologizing to shit!" I snap.

"Oh yeah?!" he asks, and I cross my arms.

"What are you gonna-" I pause when he pulls out his phone and starts to film.

"Guys, you won't believe what just happened! So my brother was giving me a tour of my new school, because you know that I'm starting a new school and whatnot, but-" He turns the phone around to face me. "This guy jumped on my brother!"

I stare at the screen.

Wait, this is TikTok... and he's live?

And the more he stands there, the more people rapidly tune in.
