This time, we’re jumping back in with Riven, Rogan, Vin, and Vega as they continue searching for the other subjects created by Dr. Thatcher and sold off to the highest bidders.
They’ve finally found a lead on Subject 114.
The problem? They have absolutely no idea what they’re about to walk into.
Subject 114 is nothing like Vin. He’s angry, defiant, reckless, and more than a little difficult to control. After years of surviving around dangerous people, he’s learned to meet threats with threats, anger with anger, and authority with open rebellion. Rescuing him may turn out to be the easy part. Convincing him they can be trusted is something else entirely, especially when he has no intention of making it easy on them. He doesn’t want rules, he doesn’t take orders, and he definitely doesn’t plan on listening just because Riven and Rogan think they’re in charge.
Meanwhile, Vin has decided that being safe isn’t enough anymore.
He wants to be a normal seventeen year old. He wants to learn to drive. He wants to go to school. He wants friends, girlfriends, normal teenage experiences... and maybe even a little rebellion too.
Riven and Rogan are about to discover that keeping Vin alive might actually be easier than raising a teenager.
