Welcome to The Dangerous Debtor.
I've been wanting to tell this story for a while, and I'm genuinely excited to finally put it in your hands. This is one of those stories where I want the tension to build slowly enough that you can feel it, but never so slowly that you forget there's something dangerous waiting underneath it.
So, before you step into Valen and Rhys's world, there are a few things I want you to know.
THE VIBE
The Dangerous Debtor is a dark, high-stakes bl romance filled with tension, secrets, power struggles, complicated choices, and a relationship that is anything but simple.
This is not a soft, uncomplicated love story.
There will be control. There will be mistrust. There will be moments where neither man is willing to back down, even when doing so would probably make their lives a lot easier. There will be attraction at the worst possible times, decisions that come with consequences, and situations where figuring out who to trust becomes almost impossible.
And yes, there will be spice.
But beneath all of that, there is a story.
The romance, the tension, the secrets, and the darker moments all have a place in the bigger picture. I want the relationship between Valen and Rhys to feel messy, intense, frustrating, addictive, and most importantly, earned through everything they go through.
ABOUT VALEN AND RHYS
Valen and Rhys are not going to make things easy for each other.
They are both stubborn. Both guarded. Both capable of keeping things hidden when they have every reason to tell the truth. And neither of them is walking into this story with a clean slate.
Their first impressions of each other are complicated by circumstances neither of them can simply ignore. Trust is going to be difficult. Understanding each other will be even harder.
There will be moments when you understand one of them and moments when you want to grab both of them by the shoulders and ask what on earth they're doing.
You might sympathize with one.
You might get angry at the other.
You might change your mind halfway through.
That's okay.
I don't want you to know exactly where this story is going from the beginning. I want you to question things. I want you to notice the little details. I want you to form theories, change them, defend them in the comments, and then come back later because you suddenly realized something you missed.
A LITTLE WARNING
Because of the nature of the story, there will be darker themes, intense power dynamics, possessiveness, emotional conflict, and situations that may not be comfortable for every reader.
There will also be explicit romantic content as the story progresses.
Please read with that in mind and take care of yourself while reading. If something isn't for you, it's completely okay to skip it or step away.
