Planet Harqua—a radiant and majestic world, once standing at the brink
of annihilation.
A thousand years ago, the skies of Harqua were suddenly torn apart by swarms of pitch-black warships. Alien invaders descended without warning, armed with technology far beyond human understanding and an overwhelming force of destruction. Cities crumbled overnight, millions vanished without a trace, and humanity seemed doomed to become nothing more than livestock awaiting slaughter.
But then, a miracle happened.
Just a few years after the first blood was spilled, humans began to awaken a mysterious power—Innate Talents.
Every child born, upon reaching the age of 16 to 18, would undergo an awakening process that revealed their natural gift. Some could conjure flames from thin air, others could hear thoughts, and some could vanish from one place and reappear elsewhere like shadows slipping through the void.
With these talents, the war against the alien race raged on for over 300 years. The cost was staggering, yet humanity ultimately succeeded in preserving Harqua.
When the war ended, a global alliance was forged, the Human Alliance.
This central governing body, funded and upheld by twelve great nations (each formed from the unification of smaller countries),
became the pillar of power and order.
To maintain balance, every 5 years the nations would compete in the Grand Ranking Tournament, an elite battle among their chosen representatives. The higher a nation ranked, the less tribute it owed to the Alliance. The weaker ones, however, were forced to surrender greater amounts of resources, wealth, and manpower.
The tributes collected were invested in scientific advancement, weapon development, and the nurturing of young prodigies with rare, extraordinary Talents.
Though peace has lasted for 700 years, Harqua has never ceased evolving. Talents continue to awaken within humankind, but not all are blessed equally. Some are granted abilities of immense power and value, while most others receive nothing but trivial, near-useless skills in the eyes of the modern world.
In City T, within the nation of V, lived a young man named Jam,
together with his younger brother Jasmy.
The two grew up in a loving family, their parents, both researchers working for an undisclosed organization. But one day, during a secret expedition, their parents vanished without a trace. Despite years of searching, Jam and his brother uncovered nothing.
Every lead was buried, every clue erased.
It became a wound that never healed within Jam’s heart, a memory carved too deep to forget.
At the age of eighteen, Jam finally underwent his awakening.
Not one, but two Talents stirred within him. Normally, a person could only awaken a single Talent.
A rare few were blessed with two, or even three, but Jam himself had no idea he was among them.
First Talent – Save-Time: a peculiar passive ability allowing Jam to set a “time marker” exactly five minutes in the past. If he faced mortal danger, his talent would automatically rewind time back to that marker, granting him a second chance to alter fate.
Second Talent – Instant Teleportation: an active skill that enabled Jam to move instantly to any location within his line of sight, though limited to a range of 100 meters.
At first glance, these powers seemed extraordinary. Yet in modern Harqua, they were unimpressive. Cities were heavily regulated by strict laws governing Talent use.
A single misstep could result in fines, prosecution, or worse. Jam found little opportunity to train or master his abilities.
Slowly, he began to believe he was nothing more than an ordinary man, cursed with “worthless” Talents.
Until one day… death came for him.
And in that critical moment, Save-Time activated for the very first time.
Only then did Jam realize the truth, he was not as powerless as he believed.
But would his second Talent prove to be his salvation… or his still downfall?
The story begins.
