Chapter 1
Narrator: Some people say that happiness doesn't come from being rich or having luxury that happiness comes from being with the people you love. Yeah, what a load of crap, right? But they weren't wrong but they weren't completely right, I think the answer stays right in the middle."
In a dimly lit room, muffled voices and uneven breathing filled
/Few years later/
In a conference room, twelve leather seats, men and women stood behind them as murmurs spread through the room. The murmurs died down immediately as a tall suited man entered.
"You may take your seats," the suited man said as he sat.
Everyone immediately took their seat.
"You may begin," the suited man says with a swift survey of everyone.
"Sir the merger with the Sterling Group and the Bellmont Corporation is still ongoing we are just waiting for your signature" a woman says.
"But, sir are you sure you want to merge with the Bellmont corporation their one of our biggest competitors in the market" A man protests."
"Are you questioning my decision?" the suited man says bluntly
"No sir of course not" the man says, lowering his gaze.
"Then that's all for today" he says as he stands up.
Everyone stands up immediately after.
"Send the contract to my office" he leaves the room without another word.
As soon as he leaves everyone lets out a sigh of relief
In England
Deep beneath a mansion, in an underground basement, the sound of gunshots fills the room as a woman with a short office skirt and blue blazer enters.
"Good afternoon, Miss Elaina, " the woman says as she bows respectfully.
"Why am I being disturbed at my shooting hours" Elaina asks as she removes her headgear and gloves.
"Well, umm... your father is here to see you ma'am."
Elaina's eyes open widen in shock" I'll be right there. Amara, tell the maids to prepare my bath."
"Of course" Amara says and walks away instantly as two maids follow her behind
A few minutes later
The sound of heels echoes against the floor as five people walk towards the dining room, with Elaina at the front, Amara closely behind, and two maids and one butler behind them. They stop at the dining table for four, as a man in his mid-forties sips tea.
"Welcome, Father. What brings you here at such short notice?"Elaina says as she sits on a chair opposite him, a butler pulls it out for her.
"What? Can't I visit my own daughter after so many years" Roman says with a cunning smile, tugging at his lips.
"That's not what I mean, it's just you could have called is all."
A butler sets a cup of tea on the table as another refills Roman's cup.
"Well, I thought I should surprise you since you couldn't call your dear family in all these years."
"Well they don't really allow people to call at the psychiatric, do they?"Elaina replies with a calm settling tone."
"Hmm, have you ever wondered how your mother is doing? Roman asks, adding sugar to his tea."
Elaina sips her tea"What do you want?"she asks, her eyes fixed on him, with a hint of dread in her expression.
Roman leans back on his chair"Move back to the U.S,"
".....Why.?"
"Why? Don't you miss your family....and since you're medically clear now you can come back.
"What are the conditions"she asks, her gaze turns a picture of her family on the wall.
"Conditions?"Roman asks rhetorically, his smirk widening"you see, that's why I like you Elaina your smart a little too smart for a woman I supposed.....well,am putting you to good use at your age your supposed to be married off by now so I found a suitor."
Amara's eyes open widely at the word, her gaze falls to Roman and then Elaina
Elaina sips her tea calmly without any slight emotion on her face.
Roman trying to read Elaina but fails looks annoyed at his failed attempts, though he doesn't show it too much.He stands and adjusts the collar of his navy-blue suite.
"Well, you'll be leaving next tomorrow so pack your bags and be ready"he says as he walks away."
