Chapter
*Sidra*
Sidra was a kind, innocent girl who only ever worried about one person - her mother, Samreen Bibi.
Samreen Bibi was known in her neighborhood as the most simple and noble-hearted woman. She never argued with anyone, never fought. Even when life became cruel, she never stretched her hand to beg before anyone. She raised her daughter exactly like herself. But Sidra's only mission was to keep her mother happy.
When Sidra was only 6 years old, her grandparents threw them out of the house. Sidra didn't even know she had uncles. All she remembered was being thrown out of her own home. The truth was, her grandparents didn't want to push their blood away. They did it for their son - Sidra's father. They say, those who are spoiled never change. Sidra's father was like that. He never liked his wife. He said his parents forced him into the marriage.
The day her grandfather threw them out, her father got his freedom. He married again, blaming Samreen - "She couldn't give me an heir." But that accusation was useless. Her grandfather didn't even know where his daughter-in-law and granddaughter were. He thought they would return in a day or two. He didn't know his own son had abandoned them on the roadside.
With a 6-year-old child, where would Samreen go? She knew nothing of the world. She only remembered one house - her aunt's house. The aunt lived alone, childless, her husband had already passed away. When Samreen reached there with her daughter, the aunt was shocked to hear the story, then she embraced them and gave them everything she had.
Samreen wanted only one thing - that Sidra would study, become successful, and make her mother's name shine. For a few days Sidra begged to meet her family, but slowly she erased them from her heart.
On the other side, her father was living happily in the haveli with his new family. At first he came to see them sometimes, but that too slowly stopped.
When Sidra learned that her father was happy after a second marriage, she gave up on everything. At 6, she had already seen her father beating her mother. As she grew, hatred for her father grew deeper in her heart. She never mentioned him before her mother. That is why she never made friends. Her only friend was Nimra, who stood by her in every difficulty.
Time passed. Sidra became a successful lawyer. She had made her mother proud. But she didn't know that becoming a lawyer would lead her back to her own home.
Her grandfather had tried everything to find them, but failed. Sidra's hatred for her father only grew, seeing her mother wake up at nights, crying and praying.
In university, a boy named Sufyan fell for her. He tried hard to convince her, but Sidra refused clearly. Samreen was happy that her daughter had reached a position where she could solve every difficulty.
On the other side, Sufyan went home and told his family, "I like a girl. She is noble and well-raised. I want to marry her, but she is not agreeing. What can be done?" His grandfather, after a silence, said, "Go, take my proposal to her house." Sufyan was overjoyed.
Sidra's father, who married again for an heir, his son was now trapped in bad deeds, circling courts because of his father's blind love.
Sidra didn't know that the case she was fighting, the boy she was getting punished, was her own step-brother. His second wife had passed away a few months ago.
When her grandfather came with a proposal to her house, Sidra was in court getting her own brother punished. She didn't know who was in front of her, but even if she knew, she would never support a lie to save her own.
After the punishment, when Sidra came out of the court, she realized he was her step-brother. Her father was standing in front, fighting with his lawyer - "You lost to a girl? Shameless!"
Sidra trembled. "My brother... my brother is like this? How was he raised?" She felt sad, but she couldn't support wrong.
On the other side, when grandfather entered their house, he cried - "Samreen... my child... where didn't we search for you? My daughter, my heart's piece... Where is my Sidra? Where is my life?"
Samreen told him everything. After a moment of silence, a strange wave of happiness came on his face - "My granddaughter... Sidra... a lawyer! May Allah protect this happiness."
Samreen asked, "Father, how did you come here?" Grandfather said, "Do you remember Sufyan? He used to live in your lap..."
"How can I forget my flower-like child? How is he now? He must be grown up. Make me meet him..."
"I have brought his proposal for my granddaughter."
Samreen was shocked. "How? We have never even seen him now... how is he, what does he do... how can I... and forgive me, but I can't do anything without Sidra's wish."
Grandfather left saying, "I will come again, be ready to come to your own house, my daughter."
Samreen remained silent. She knew her daughter would not agree.
In the evening when Sidra came home, Samreen told her everything and Sidra said angrily, "Which home? What home? We have no home, this is our home." With much convincing from her mother, Sidra agreed a little. Then her mother dropped another bomb - "We are going tomorrow, your grandfather will come to take us."
She didn't know what was going to happen there. With difficulty she agreed to go, and when she went there, she saw -
A young man in a black suit, with a light beard, arms folded, waiting for them. No one else but Sufyan. For a moment she kept looking at him, because she knew Sufyan was capable and decent.
At night she called her friend Nimra and told her everything. Nimra joked, "Ahem ahem, did madam fall in love?"
"You are crazy, it's nothing like that. Grandfather met us with so much love."
Nimra: "And your baba?"
Sidra angrily: "I don't know about him, maybe he doesn't live here anymore."
Just then Samreen came, crying. "What happened, why are you crying? Promise me you will listen to me. I have never asked you for anything, but today you have to listen to one thing of mine..."
Crying, Samreen said, "Marry Sufyan."
First Sidra made a strange face, then seeing her mother cry she said, "But mom, we don't even know him."
Then her mother told her everything - how he was raised, how his parents left him in childhood, how grandfather raised him, that he was grandfather's shadow.
"But mom, he is your sister's son and your sister loved you a lot."
With emotional blackmail, her mother convinced her.
The next day when Sidra and Sufyan came face to face and Sufyan looked at Sidra lovingly, she became nervous. She didn't know what to do.
Grandfather made them sit face to face and asked about marriage, both gave one answer - "Grandfather, as you think is right."
Then preparations for Sufyan and Sidra's wedding started and in between Sufyan secretly teased Sidra, lovingly teased her, talked in gestures, and then they got married and Sidra took many promises from him that he will never become like her father, he will always keep her happy. And Sufyan fulfilled every promise and happily they accepted each other
