Summary

The Wife He Never Expected to Love — Summary A beautiful young Palestinian woman is married off by her struggling family to Prince Zayyan Al-Rashid, a wealthy and powerful Iraqi royal, in exchange for a secure and comfortable future for her family. She enters the marriage frightened and uncertain, believing she has simply been given to a man she barely knows. Zayyan initially sees the marriage as an arrangement. He expects a formal relationship and keeps his distance. But his new wife slowly changes his world through the smallest things. She prepares his meals, makes his ginger and turmeric shots, leaves lavender milk for him at night, takes care of the household, and quietly prays throughout the home. More importantly, she treats everyone with kindness—from the maids to the senior household staff—and never lets her new wealth make her arrogant. As Zayyan watches her, he begins discovering the woman behind the marriage arrangement: gentle, intelligent, deeply caring, beautiful, and secretly passionate about fashion design. He begins to seek her company. When he travels, he sends her flowers and gifts. When she isn't downstairs one morning, he finds himself looking for her. When she prays, he sits nearby simply because he wants to be close to her. Meanwhile, his family becomes divided. His mother embraces his wife and eventually considers her a daughter, while his sister resents

Chapter 1THEY MARRAGE CHOSE FOr HER

AmiraChapter One

The Marriage They Chose for Her

“Amira.”

She looked up from her embroidery.

Her mother stood in the doorway, holding an envelope.

“What happened?”

Her mother sat beside her and handed it over.

“Your father and I have made a decision.”

Amira opened it.

Her eyes stopped at the name.

Prince Zayyan Al-Rashid.

She looked up slowly.

“Who is he?”

Her mother's voice was quiet.

“He wants to marry you.”

Amira stared at her.

“What?”

“He's wealthy. You'll have a comfortable life. Your brothers will have what they need, and your father won't have to struggle anymore.”

“So you're selling me?”

“No!” her mother whispered, tears filling her eyes. “We're trying to give you a better life.”

Amira looked away.

“But I don't even know him.”

“You'll meet him tomorrow.”

The next day, Amira stood nervously inside the Al-Rashid residence.

Everything around her was beautiful—too beautiful.

Then the doors opened.

Zayyan walked in.

Tall, composed, dressed in black.

His eyes met hers.

For a moment, neither spoke.

His mother introduced them, then left them alone.

Zayyan sat across from her.

“I'll ask you one question.”

Amira nodded.

“Do you want this marriage?”

She looked down at her hands.

“I don't know.”

He was quiet.

“My family wants it,” she whispered.

“So does mine.”

She finally looked at him.

“Then what do you want?”

Zayyan studied her for a moment.

“I don't want a wife who feels trapped.”

Her eyes softened slightly.

“Then why are you marrying me?”

He looked toward the window.

“Maybe,” he said quietly, “we should find that out together.”

And that was how it began.
