Chapter 1 — The Night Everything Changed

The moon was unusually bright that night.
Kael walked home alone, his hands buried inside his jacket pockets as a cold wind moved through the trees.
Something felt wrong.
He stopped.
Kael: “...Why does it feel like someone’s watching me?”
Silence.
Then—
CRACK!
A branch snapped behind him.
Kael turned around.
Nothing.
Kael: “Who’s there?”
His heart began beating faster.
He took one step backward.
Then two glowing eyes appeared between the trees.
Kael froze.
A dark figure stepped into the moonlight.
It wasn’t human.
Its body was covered in black fur, its claws were enormous, and its eyes burned like fire.
Kael: “What... are you?”
The creature suddenly lunged.
Kael: “AAAH!”
Kael tried to run.
He wasn’t fast enough.
SLASH!
Pain exploded through his shoulder.
Kael fell to the ground.
His vision began to blur.
The creature stood over him.
But before it could attack again—
ROAR!
Another creature crashed through the trees.
This one was different.
A pale man with blood-red eyes stood between Kael and the beast.
Stranger: “Leave him.”
The werewolf growled.
Werewolf: “He carries that blood.”
The stranger’s eyes narrowed.
Stranger: “Then you know what happens if you kill him.”
Kael struggled to stay conscious.
Kael: “What... blood...?”
The two creatures suddenly attacked each other.
Claws collided.
Fangs flashed.
Trees shattered around them.
Kael crawled away, desperately trying to escape.
Then the pain in his chest became unbearable.
Kael: “AAGH!”
His heart slammed against his ribs.
His veins began glowing faintly beneath his skin.
Something inside him awakened.
The stranger looked toward Kael in shock.
Stranger: “Impossible...”
Kael’s eyes suddenly changed.
One became a deep crimson.
The other became a glowing silver.
The stranger whispered:
Stranger: “King’s Blood...”
Kael collapsed.
🌑 Later...
Kael opened his eyes.
He was lying in an unfamiliar room.
His wounds were gone.
He slowly sat up.
Kael: “Where am I?”
A mirror stood across the room.
Kael looked into it.
His face looked normal.
Until he noticed his eyes.
Kael: “...Those aren’t my eyes.”
A voice came from behind him.
Stranger: “No.”
Kael spun around.
The pale man from the forest was standing in the doorway.
Kael: “You!”
The stranger remained calm.
Stranger: “My name is Lucien.”
Kael backed away.
Kael: “What did you do to me?”
Lucien stared directly into his eyes.
Lucien: “I didn’t do this to you.”
He paused.
Lucien: “You did it to yourself.”
Kael looked at his hands.
His fingers began trembling.
Suddenly—
BOOM!
A powerful pulse of energy exploded from his body.
The windows shook.
Lucien stepped backward.
Lucien: “Your blood is awakening.”
Kael stared at him.
Kael: “What am I?”
Lucien’s expression became serious.
Lucien: “That’s the question that will change your life.”
Outside, the full moon disappeared behind dark clouds.
And somewhere far away...
another pair of red eyes opened.
Unknown Voice: “The King’s Blood has awakened.”
A sinister smile appeared in the darkness.
Unknown Voice: “Find him.”
