The First Prediction
Chapter One — The First Prediction
Aruhi found the diary on a Thursday.
It was hidden behind the third shelf of the old school library, where nobody ever went unless they had lost a textbook.
The cover was black.
No title.
No name.
Just one word written in silver ink:
ARUHI.
She stared at it.
Then she opened the first page.
Her blood ran cold.
The handwriting was hers.
Not similar.
Not almost identical.
Hers.
The first sentence read:
If you’re reading this, it’s already started.
Aruhi turned the page.
Monday, 10:25 a.m. — The chemistry lab alarm will ring.
She laughed nervously.
“What kind of stupid prank is this?”
She closed the diary.
On Monday at exactly 10:25 a.m., the chemistry lab alarm went off.
Aruhi told only one person.
Aarav.
He didn’t laugh.
He didn’t call it a prank.
He simply asked,
“Where did you find it?”
“The library.”
His expression changed.
“Don’t tell anyone else.”
“Why?”
“Because twelve years ago, a girl disappeared from this school.”
Aruhi stared at him.
“What does that have to do with my diary?”
Aarav hesitated.
“Her name was Aanya.”
Then he added quietly,
“She had a diary too.”
