Chapter 1
Chapter 1
The First Boy Who Followed Me 🌸
I was sixteen.
I was in 10th class, and my life was pretty simple back then—school, exams, anime, and walking home every day. 🎒🏫
One day, while I was walking home, I noticed a guy walking behind me.
At first, I didn't think much of it. Maybe it was just a coincidence.
But then I noticed him again.
And again.
So eventually, I told my friend,
"Mujhe lagta hai woh ladka mujhe follow karta hai."
And her immediate response was:
"Tujhe koi kyun follow karega?" 😭
Honestly, I didn't know either.
But after that, I started noticing him more, and it became pretty clear that he really was taking the same route behind me.
A few days later, when I was walking through the lane near my house, he finally stopped me.
He asked me if I would go on a date with him.
And then he gave me a little doll keychain. 🥹🔑
I wasn't sure what to say, so I asked him for some time to think.
Of course, the first person I told was my friend. 😂
"Us ladke ne mujhe date ke liye pucha hai. Main kya bolu?"
She didn't decide for me.
She simply asked,
"What do you think is right?"
And honestly…
I didn't know.
Part of me wanted to try dating.
I'd never experienced anything like that before, and I was curious about what it would be like. ❤️
So after thinking about it for about a week, I said yes.
And just like that, I had my first boyfriend.
He was a nice guy, and for a while, we were simply two teenagers figuring out what being together actually meant.
But there was one small problem.
I loved anime. 😂😭
Like… a lot.
And at that age, anime was honestly competing pretty hard for my attention. 💀🍿
I didn't even have my own phone. I used my father's phone, and because he usually came home at night, I couldn't always talk to my boyfriend whenever I wanted.
Then my board exams started getting closer.
And suddenly, I wasn't thinking about dating as much.
I was thinking about exams.
"What if I don't pass?"
"What if I mess everything up?"
I was nervous, and I felt like being in a relationship was making it harder for me to focus.
So I made a decision.
I wanted to break up.
He didn't immediately agree with the idea, and we talked about it. At one point, I even suggested,
"What if you wait until I pass 12th? Can you wait three years?"
But eventually, I realized that I didn't want to put a relationship on hold for three years either.
I simply wasn't ready for one.
So I ended the relationship.
There wasn't a villain.
There wasn't a heartbreak story where one person destroyed the other.
It was just me, at sixteen, realizing that I wanted something different from what I had initially imagined. 🌷
For a while afterward, I still noticed him around my usual route.
Eventually, he started dating another girl.
And I let him.
After all, I had been the one who chose to leave.
He had his life, and I had mine.
Looking back now, I don't think either of us really knew what we were doing.
We were just teenagers having our first experience with something called love and trying to understand what it meant.
And maybe that's what makes this chapter special.
It wasn't a forever story.
It wasn't supposed to be.
It was simply…
my first. 🌙❤️
