Total Lockdown
The lecture hall at Westlake University was packed, but the second Liam Vance walked in, the entire back row cleared out. He was the campus nightmare wealthy, untouchable, and notoriously volatile. I kept my head down, pulling my oversized sweater over my hands, trying to blend into the shadows. My name is Mei Lin, and my goal for college was simple: get my degree, stay quiet, and hang out with my small circle of friends.
But my quiet life ended when Liam slammed his leather jacket onto the desk right next to mine.
"You're in my seat, mouse," he muttered, his voice a low, gravelly rasp.
"T-There wasn't a name on it," I whispered, my voice trembling as I stared at my notebook.
Before I could even pack my things, his hand shot out, his fingers locking around my wrist with an iron grip. He pulled me sharply toward him, his dark eyes boring into mine with an intense gaze.
"It's my seat because I say it is," Liam muttered, his grip tightening just enough to keep me from moving. "And from now on, you sit here. Every single day. If I catch you sitting near anyone else, or talking to any of those losers you hang out with, we’re going to have a massive problem. You're mine to deal with this semester."
