Christmas at Blackwood Lake

Summary

After losing her parents, Amy Williams needs somewhere to start over. Blackwood Lake was never supposed to be that place. She arrives in the small mountain town expecting a quiet Christmas with her aunt. Instead, she finds herself drawn into the fight to save the historic Blackwood Lake Lodge, a weathered lakeside hotel filled with family memories, local history and secrets that may be better left buried. The lodge isn't the only thing capturing her attention. Ethan Cole is the local contractor helping bring the old hotel back to life, and the more time Amy spends with him, the harder it becomes to remember why she promised herself she wouldn't get attached to anything... or anyone. But someone wants the lodge gone. As Christmas draws closer, Amy begins to realise that the fight over the hotel may be about far more than waterfront property. There are unanswered questions about her family, hidden connections she never knew existed, and someone who seems determined to make sure the past stays exactly where it belongs. With snow falling over Blackwood Lake, sparks flying between her and Ethan, and the future of the lodge hanging in the balance, Amy may finally have found somewhere that feels like home. She just has to figure out why someone is so determined to take it from her.

I honestly did not love Dev, he had no character growth and no arc I just didnt like who he is as a person and that made it hard to keep going about half way through. Without Jaspers ...

PARIS IN THE DARK

Hester: Very good, was short too the point , not lingering on the abuse, pity you didn’t let him step in earlier knowing the abuse was happening, but this is almost real for some women who have gone through it, just wish they could all have a princess at te end of thete tunnel
