Her daddy

Anise had to walk around with a fake smile.Loosing her dad at the age of four to heart failure was not a nice experience for Anise. She was the only child of her parents. She felt the impact of the loss as her mum started dating random men and sleeping out. She had to relocate with her mum to another city when the mom remarried.

Her stepfather had taken care of her and provided for the family. She had always appreciated his efforts and gradually, the feelings changed. She had to lock this away. Maybe it was just teenage feeling. She stayed away from him and distracted herself from anything that would remind her of him.

She decided to go far away for a while just maybe meeting other guys would make her forget him. Every single time she met his eyes, she would feel her throat go dry.

Few weeks later, she had her mum and stepdad arguing in the middle of the night. Apparently, her mum and started to sleep out again and when her husband confronted her, she told him that she was no longer in love with him. The next morning, her mum was parking her things and yelling loudly. She went to her mum but to her surprise, her mum called her a curse and told her to stay away from her.

She watched her mum pull her luggage to a waiting truck packed outside their house. Her mum left without a word. She watched her world shatter in front of her and she couldn’t do anything about it.
