Chapter 1 — The Goat That Spoke

In a small Nigerian village called Umuoma, there lived a young farmer named Chinedu.

Chinedu was poor, but he was hardworking. Every morning, he woke up early and went to his farm.

One morning, while feeding his white goat, Chinedu suddenly heard a voice.

“Chinedu! Take your hand out of my food!”

Chinedu froze.

He looked around.

Nobody was there.

Then he slowly looked down at the goat.

“Wait… YOU can talk?” Chinedu shouted.

The goat looked at him calmly.

“Of course I can. You people just never listen!”

Chinedu nearly fell to the ground.

He ran toward the village shouting:

“My goat can talk! My goat can talk!”

Nobody believed him.

But Chinedu knew he had to prove it.
