Chapter 1
Deep underground lies the Shadow Kingdom, ruled by the Dark Lord. He hunts people with spider powers — because if they grow too many, he will never take over the world. And he is getting closer.
Up above, Nikita was just a normal boy — clumsy, silly, always in small trouble. One sunny afternoon by the park fence, he saw a tiny spider.
“Watch me catch it!” he said.
He poked at it with a stick… leaned too far… slipped… and fell! The spider bit his hand and vanished.
“Ouch,” Nikita muttered, and forgot about it.
That night, he woke up and tried to get out of bed — his hand stuck to the wall. He pulled, and a silvery thread shot from his wrist and stuck to the ceiling! The other wrist did the same! He walked down the wall like it was nothing.
“What’s happening?” he whispered.
Far below, the Dark Lord opened his eyes and smiled.
“I found one,” he growled. “The hunt begins.”
