Episode 1 - THE REDDISH-BLACK SWORD

A new girl named Mia Takahashi joined a new school.

At first, everything was unfamiliar—the classrooms, the teachers, and the hundreds of faces she had never seen before. But Mia quickly adapted. She started making friends, and within just a week, she had become close to almost everyone.

Then summer break began.

Before the students left, their teacher gave them an assignment.

They were all told to write a story during the summer break.

There was only one catch.

The student who wrote the best story would receive a cash prize.

Mia immediately became interested. As soon as she reached home, she went to her mother.

“Mom, I need an idea for a story.”

Her mother thought for a moment.

“I don't really have any ideas,” she replied.

Then she suddenly remembered something.

“There might be something useful in the storeroom. Your father has a lot of old files there. He never lets anyone touch them.”

Mia's father was abroad at the time.

Her mother continued, “Why don't you check the storeroom? Maybe you'll find something interesting.”

Mia agreed.

She entered the storeroom.

Dust covered almost everything inside. Old boxes, files, papers, and forgotten objects were scattered around the room.

Mia searched through almost the entire storeroom.

Nothing.

Just when she was about to give up, she noticed something.

The attic.

She decided to climb up and search there as well.

The attic was even dustier than the room below.

Mia carefully searched through the old belongings.

Then—

She found a large black box.

Her curiosity took over.

She pulled the box toward her and opened it.

Inside was something wrapped tightly in an old cloth.

“What is this...?”

Mia slowly removed the cloth.

Her eyes widened.

Inside was a blackish-red sword.

She stared at it in complete shock.

Why would her father have something like this?

Mia then noticed something else inside the box.

Papers.

They were covered in dust.

She picked up the first one and wiped the dust away with her hand.

Slowly, the writing became visible.

Mia froze.

At the top of the paper was a title.

THE CHOSEN ONE

And underneath it were two words.

REN TAKAHASHI

Mia stared at the name

A good plot that flowed well for the most part with some twists along the way, good well developed characters... there are a few technical mistakes, but nothing to harsh. I must say toward the end of the book there were some issues with like a quick change ...
