Chapter 1
I was sitting on the couch watching Tv when walked in. She sets the groceries down. I stand up and run over to start rummaging through the bags.
Me: You didn't get my candy.
Mom: I forget.
Me: What the hell?! I see you didn't forget to get you and Matt condoms!
I pull them out the box, and she snatches them from me.
Mom: That's none of your business!
I roll my eyes.
Me: I'll just call Matt and have him get them!
I pull out my phone and dial Matt's number. I knew exactly how to get what I wanted from him. It rings until he finally picks up.
Me: Dad, mom forgot my candy!
Matt: Are you seriously calling me to grab you candy before I get home?
Me: Please daddy?
I hear something like the phone being moved around.
Matt: I'll grab it for you.
Me: Thanks! You're the best!
I hang up the phone and smile at my mom.
Me: See? Problem solved!
I go sit back down on the couch. After about an hour Matt walks through the door and walks over to me, handing me the candy. I squeal and kiss his cheek.
Mom: Stop spoiling her.
Matt: She's my little girl. I'll always spoil her.
I turn around and stick my tongue out at her before turning my attention back to the TV. Mom runs up to Matt, and he hugs her but that was about it. I wasn't blind to what was happening. Someone else had piqued Matt's attention.
Matt: I need to go handle something. I'll be back later.
Me: Can you drop me off at the mall?
Mom: Wait! I had plans for us tonight!
Me: Sucks to suck. So, will you?
She stands in the kitchen with her arms crossed.
Matt: Let's go.
Me: Yay!
I jump up and grab my phone. I rush to the door.
Mom: I won't be here when you get home if you leave.
Matt: Have fun.
He walks out the door and I was behind him. I get in the passenger seat. That was cold but I didn't care. I was going shopping. He got in the driver seat and starts the car up. We back out the driveway and hit the interstate. We arrive to the mall. I get ready to get out when he grabs my arm. I turn around.
Matt: Here.
He was holding his personal credit card out to me.
Me: Really?! Buy whatever you want. Your mom does.
I smile and kiss his cheek.
Me: Thanks.
I call up my girls and tell them to meet me at the mall. They didn't hesitate. I was inside the mall waiting for them when they came running up to me.
Me: Matt gave me his card and said buy whatever I want!
Dee: Lucky!
Stacy: I swear he's rich and he's hot!
Dee: Seriously!
Me: Could you not talk about him like that!
Dee: You can't tell me you never thought about if he wasn't your stepdad.
Me: No, I haven't and don't think I ever will.
Stacy: You're crazy! I'd fuck him in a heartbeat!
Me: Gross!
I hold the card up.
Me: This is why we're here! Shopping! Not wondering and mind fucking my stepdad.
We hit up the stores and I bought whatever I wanted. Most were sexy little strapless dresses.
Dee: Can I spend the night?
Me: Why?
Dee: I was thinking of buying this.
Me: Again why?
Stacy: Hoping Matt's in the mood for a midnight snack.
Dee: The snack being me.
Me: Y'all are sick! You don't see me wanting to fuck your dads.
Stacy: Yeah! Because our dads aren't hot with the body of a God!
I roll my eyes.
Me: I don't care.
They both squeal. We finish shopping and Dee drives us back to my place.
Me: Mom! I'm home!
She doesn't answer. I think back on what she said that she wouldn't be home if Matt left. I shrug my shoulders.
Me: Matts won't be back until late and my mom is MIA.
Dee: Shot?!
Me: Shot!
I go in Matt's study and open his liquor cabinet. I head back to the living room and start passing the bottle around. We stay in the living room getting drunk when the door opens.
Me: Ma--?! I mean dad!
Matt: What are you doing with my liquor?
I freeze. I look at them and they look away, leaving me to fend for myself.
Matt: In my office now!
He never got strict with me. I follow him to his study. He closes the door behind me. He undoes the top two buttons on his shirt before taking a seat.
Matt: Seriously Zoe?
Me: I'll replace it daddy. I promise.
He stands up and walks over to me. I back up and I'm caged against the door.
Matt: Don't daddy me. You think I don't know you only call me daddy when you really want something?
He was extremely close to my ear. His voice barely above a whisper.
Matt: And how were you going to replace it? With my money? So, I'm replacing my liquor that you drank?
Me: Please don't be mad.
Matt: Shut up.
I don't say another word. He moves closer stopping right in front of my face. He leans in close and I close my eyes. He kisses my cheek but close enough to my mouth he caught the corner. When I opened my eyes, he just stared at me.
Matt: Return to your friends. And stay out of my liquor cabinet.
I nod and leave his office. My heart was pounding. I run to the bathroom, and my cheeks were slightly flushed. I splash water on my face before heading back to the living room. What was that?
