Chapter 1
The Betrayal & forgiveness
America, California
The room was dark.
A woman stood in front of a terrified man, her eyes burning with fury. Her hand was tightly gripping his collar.
“Who paid you to betray me?” she demanded. “Tell me.”
The man trembled violently. Sweat covered his face, and his hands shook.
“I—I don't know,” he stammered. “They contacted him by phone. I never saw them. I'm sorry…”
He pleaded for his life.
“Please… spare me. I beg you.”
The woman's anger only grew.
“Will your apology bring my godmother back?” she shouted. “Will it undo what happened?”
She released his collar with a push.
“I paid you enough to protect her. That incident proved you don't deserve to be a bodyguard, Axar.”
She turned toward the bodyguard standing behind her and took the gun from him.
“Your betrayal has only one price.”
She aimed the gun at the man's head.
“Death.”
The man begged desperately as she prepared to pull the trigger.
Then—
“Dad!”
A little girl suddenly barged into the room.
The woman's finger froze.
She looked at the child, then slowly lowered the gun.
“I'll spare you because of your daughter,” she said coldly. “But if I ever see you again, I won't leave you alive.”
She handed the gun back to her bodyguard and walked away.
Her bodyguard showed something to her on a tablet.
Angelina glanced at it.
“It's time. Let's go there.”
Italy.
Angelina stepped out from her private jet and walked across the runway. Her lady assistant, Saya, followed closely behind her, along with Ethan, her head of security and longtime bodyguard.
They both are her most trustable person & loyal to her. Numerous bodyguards followed them.
Angelina got into an extremely expensive supercar.
Her name was Angelina.
She owned prestigious art galleries known for their exclusive collections.
Art lovers from around the world visited her galleries, and wealthy people frequently came to them in Rome.
Angelina had an extraordinary ability.
She could tell whether a piece of art was genuine or fake with a single glance.
Ethan had worked as her bodyguard for years. He was also her legal advisor.
As the car moved, Ethan asked,
“Where should we head now?”
“Let's see the cowards show,” Angelina replied.
Ethan immediately understood and gave the address to the driver.
