Chapter 1
You are my good habit,
The one I never want to break,
The thought that finds me in the morning,
The smile I cannot help but make.
You are the little piece of comfort
I carry through each day,
The quiet voice inside my head,
That somehow makes everything okay.
We don’t need grand declarations,
Or fireworks across the sky.
Sometimes love is simply knowing,
That there’s someone on the other side.
Someone who knows my silences,
my laughter, and my fears.
Who can turn an ordinary moment,
Into something I hold dear.
And when the miles lie between us,
I still feel you close somehow,
In the messages and the memories,
The things that make me smile - even now!
You’re the person I want to tell things to,
The ridiculous and the profound,
The one who makes me laugh so hard,
That we can’t hear each other for the sound.
You are not a habit I should quit,
But one I’ll happily repeat.
Another day of loving you,
Waiting for our next chance to meet.
So if loving you is a habit,
Then let me be hopelessly true,
Because some habits aren’t meant to fade.
And this one
..is most definitely
..you.
