A Friend In Real Life

All Rights Reserved ©

Summary

In a world where friendships often begin and end behind screens, finding a genuine friend can feel impossible. Sometimes, all we need is someone who understands us, listens without judging, shares our laughter, and stays through our difficult moments. This poem reflects the longing for a true friendship beyond social media, reminding us that no matter how many people we meet online, nothing compares to having a real friend by our side.

A Friend in Real Life

A Friend in Real Life

I've never really had my own friend in person,

All my friends are online like echoes without a face.

The first time I tried having a real friend,

They left, too caught up in their own pace,

Leaving shadows where memory should stay.

I wish I had the one who exists in real life.

We could hang out,

Have fun,

Go on a picnic in the summer light,

Take pictures,

Camp overnight under the stars that twinkle bright.

We could share dreams, maybe even fears tonight.

We could create memories,

Like a story worth reliving, moments to feel like home.

We could laugh a lot,

Cry when needed,

And be there for each other.

They say a true friend always stays through thick and thin,

But I'm not sure that's the same for me.

Maybe I'm the one who is locked inside.

I've waited, hoping for that one true friend, someone to share my world with, like we're meant to be.

But then,

I'll wait to have a real friend who is there to stay.

I've never really had my own friend in person.

Maggie Varnum: Like that it was fast paced and suspenseful...loved the romance up ended a little to fast ...would have been better if there was a Luna ceremony chapter and a birth of son with name chapter with Cole as a dramatic dad in the delivery scene .... Overall I enjoyed it very much!

PARIS IN THE DARK

Hester: Very good, was short too the point , not lingering on the abuse, pity you didn’t let him step in earlier knowing the abuse was happening, but this is almost real for some women who have gone through it, just wish they could all have a princess at te end of thete tunnel
