When the Sky Falls — Terror Among the Dwellers
Calm nights, with a gentle sea breeze traveling through the quiet air... then out of the dark, the most heartbreaking news is anchored directly into humanity's heart: THEIR EXTINCTION is being televised live from the International Space Study and Research Organization.
Dreams are about to shatter; a raw, dangerous new era is about to be born. Panic surges from the core of every soul as they learn their beloved home will be destroyed, or at the very least, its dwellers wiped out.
Scientists have tracked an unknown meteorite, as massive as the ancient 'Dinosaur Killer,' hurtling toward Earth at an irreversible speed. Offering a heavy, desperate apology for their oversight, the late night broadcast ends, leaving behind an endless terror of certain death.
"It’s still too early to feel sorrow!"
Amidst the surging terror, a flicker of hope remained. The declaration came with absolute certainty from Dr. Jet Jr., a brilliant young prodigy within the renowned organization C.O.S.M.O.S. (Central Organization for Space Meteorology & Orbital Studies). A bright, unwavering determination twinkled in his eyes.
Looking to him as their ultimate savior, the surrounding researchers immediately sprang into motion. They executed every task with precision, moving in perfect sync as if reading his very mind before he even uttered another word.
Soon, capable young minds marched relentlessly across the compound, from warehouses to laboratories, and from laboratories to research hubs, printing blueprints for an unspoken blueprint of survival. With mere moments left before impact, they prepared for both the absolute worst and the impossible best. Every branch of the facility was locked in a feverish blur of activity, and a new emergency conference was convened at the urgent request of the organization’s highest leadership.
On the streets outside, alarms blared without pause. Broadcast after broadcast echoed through the air, pounding against the hearts of the common folk hard enough to stop them cold. Whereever they looked were stempede everywhere , plunging the entire territory into a state of total catastrophe. The military deployed to the front lines for one final, desperate stand, as chaotic instructions left the public confused and paralyzed with fear.
Then came the hour of the inevitable.
The massive meteor breached the upper atmosphere, burning white hot as it tore through the sky. Though every preparation had been set in motion, hope was slipping away like sand through fingers. The sky cleaving mass kept closing in, growing larger by the second.
Down below, humanity surrendered to their final moments. People made their last silent wishes; some burst into hysterical laughter at the absurdity of the end, while others wept, clinging tightly to memories of their loved ones and shattered dreams.
And then, the moment arrived.
The impact struck, and the world dissolved into total blackness. For better or worse, science had met its absolute limit. If humanity had any future left beyond the darkness, they would either abandon their faith in science forever, or be forced to rewrite it completely
