part 1
*From Innocence to Horror*
I was the girl who laughed the most.
At least, that's what everyone thought.
Two months ago, I transferred to this new school. On my first day, I made a promise to myself - I will be nice to everyone. I will be the most helpful, the most innocent girl, so that no one ever gets a reason to hate me.
And it worked.
I quickly made five friends. Five friends who became my whole world. I did everything for them. If they needed notes, I gave away my own notebook. If they were sad at 2 a.m., I stayed awake and listened for hours. If they fought with each other, I was the one who fixed everything.
I thought that's what friendship was.
One month later...
That's when I started noticing the small things.
They would laugh at my jokes, but then they would repeat the same joke without me and laugh even louder.
They would make plans right in front of me, while looking at me, but never include me.
And when I finally said something, they would just smile and say, you are so sensitive. Don't take it so seriously
Small things for them. But not small things for a sensitive girl like me.
My own group of five started acting strange.
Charles - the funny one of our group, the boy with glasses who could make anyone laugh. One day, he shouted at me in front of everyone, "Shut your mouth!" It was the first time he ever talked to me like that. I thought it was a joke, but he did it again the next day. And the day after that.
Aries - the one who always helped me with studies. Suddenly, he stopped. He started being rude. He wouldn't even listen to what I was saying.
Daniel - such a nice person, but for the last few days, his only joke was me. My face, my beauty, my everything. And when he joked, the whole group laughed together. I was the joke.
Jenifer - she has short hair and she talks a lot. She was so nice to me, but now I could see it - she was jealous. And Sofia - the chill girl with hair below her shoulders - she used to talk to me so nicely. Now both of them sit together, whispering. I say something, and they just ignore me. As if I don't exist.
One night, Jenni sat at her study table. She took out a notebook and a pen.
For two hours, she kept writing. She didn't stop. Page after page, her handwriting got darker and darker.
And on the last page, she stopped. She looked at what she had written and smiled.
She said in a low voice,
"Welcome to my darkside."
And then she laughed. A loud, empty laugh.
Because a monster is not born, it is made.
