THE ONES WHO STAY IN THE DARK

They always say it's okay not to be okay. They tell you that you don't always have to be strong, that it's okay to fall apart, that you don't have to carry the weight of the world alone.

But when the mask finally slips, when the smile fades and the darkness swallows what little light remains, there are few who stay when you're no longer okay.

So we smile. We whisper, "I'm fine," while silently drowning in the depths of our own minds. We hide the ugly, the broken, the demons clawing at our insides. We bury our darkness beneath laughter because we're afraid of what people might see if we ever let them look too deep.

Somewhere along the way, we forget that we're allowed to feel. Allowed to break. Allowed to scream when the silence becomes unbearable. Allowed to be human even when being human hurts like hell.

But listen closely...

You were never meant to fight every demon alone.

There are people who will stay when the nights grow darker, when your world begins to crumble, when the fire inside you burns everything to the ground.

There are souls who won't run from your chaos, who will sit beside you in the ashes and help you carry the pieces you can no longer hold.

The ones who will help lift the boulder when your knees finally give way. The ones who will stand beside you when your whole world is burning, not asking you to smile, not demanding that you be strong, but simply reminding you that you don't have to face the flames alone.

The ones who will look your demons in the eyes and refuse to see you as a monster. Who will sit with you in the darkness until the shadows grow quiet. Who will hold space for your pain without making you feel like a burden for having it.

Because sometimes, love isn't a hand reaching in to save you. Sometimes, it's a soul sitting beside yours in the deepest pit of hell, whispering,

"You don't have to fight right now. You don't have to pretend. You don't have to hide the broken pieces of yourself from me. I'll stay. Even here. Especially here."

And maybe that's what we all need— not someone who promises to chase away every demon, but someone who isn't afraid to sit beside us while we learn how to face them.

Because even in the darkest corners of our minds, even beneath the heaviest masks, even when we no longer recognise ourselves...

WE ARE STILL WORTH STAYING FOR.

And sometimes, the people who save us are simply the ones who never make us feel like we need saving to deserve their love.

Quenda: Overall a good story. Looks like it is in need of a good proof reader as it contradicts itself at times...but overall a good story.

UNDER HIS ROOF

Deborah Gabriella: The book has an unexpected plot twist, but no clues making you look forward to it. Making the story feel last minute and unplanned. The chemistry between the lead characters is shown extremely well. There's a good build up, in that regard. However with a bit more drama, maybe not between the couple ...
