From Earth to the Planet of Gold

It was on the night of a full moon .. well, actually it was a sunny hot day in death valley, a full moon sounds more dramatic.

My five companions and I had been assigned a special mission. We were journeying to the planet of gold! It was an uncharted planet in a galaxy called "Dusty." No, I didn't name it. I am Waaay better at naming things than that

We had just been given a crash course in spaceship technical stuff and we're more than ready to lift off!

What's that? No! Of course they didn't pick us just because we were super annoying misfits that made taxpayers want to spend millions to launch us into space instead of giving us actual jobs! Why would you even think that?

Anyways enough of that, let's get to the good stuff, the part about me of course.

Oh, and the crew is here too I guess...

Jubal: me! The captain of the crew! And very loud apparently...

Galatas: The first mate and an albino African! He's so cool

Festus: The technical genius who is always happy for some reason?

Ruchi: The pilot and a real people pleaser if you ask me

Ornat: The copilot. For some reason she's very squeamish

Geir: The cook. Do NOT get in this little guy's way

Well now that the exciting part about me is over we can get back to the less exiting story:

Since the dusty Galaxy was several years away we were going to hibernate for 8 years while the ship traveled at warp speed.

What's that? Hypersleep!? Of course not! Hibernation is waaay cooler

Anyways, here's the part I was getting at before I was rudely interrupted:

After that we'd enter the dusty Galaxy, where warp speed would be too dangerous. Then in one more year of "regular speed" travel we'd land on The Planet of Gold! Ta-daaa!

Ssshh, don't ask me how all of that works because I have no idea...

All of us were 20 years old when we blasted off. And you will never guess what I woke up to 8 years later...
