SYNOPSIS

Everyone has a story. Everyone wants to be seen, to be loved, to be the person who matters most in somebody else’s world. But what happens when two girls, born into entirely different lives, find themselves standing beneath the same sky? What happens when one has spent her entire life being worshipped, while the other has never even known the truth about herself?

And what happens when the girl everyone believes to be extraordinary is nothing compared to the girl nobody understands?

Meet Diamond and Sky.

Diamond has everything a girl could ever dream of. Wealth, beauty, talent, a loving family, and a future that seems almost too perfect to be real. She is adored wherever she goes, admired by everyone around her, and treated like someone who could never do any wrong. To the world, she is a precious jewel, a girl born to shine. The successor of the Star Goddess, the girl believed to carry the mark of the Moon Goddess, and the future bride of the newly unsealed Ancient Sun Emperor.

At school, she is the Queen of the Campus. Her beauty is praised, her talents are envied, and her position is unquestioned. Nobody dares to challenge her. Nobody wants to be the person who makes an enemy of Diamond, especially when the man destined to marry her is someone as powerful as the Ancient Sun Emperor.

But beneath all that perfection is a girl who cannot bear the thought of being second.

Diamond wants to be the most beautiful, the most talented, the most loved. She wants to be the girl everyone looks at and the one nobody can ever replace. She smiles sweetly, plays the part of the innocent princess, and knows exactly how to make people believe she is as pure as they imagine. But behind that beautiful smile lies envy, manipulation, and a hunger for admiration that never seems to be satisfied.

To Diamond, having everything is not enough. She must be certain that nobody else has something better.

Then there is Sky.

If Diamond was born to be adored, Sky seems to have been born to be overlooked.

She is the daughter of a humble roadside stall seller, a quiet girl who wants nothing more than to live her life in peace. She does not chase attention, compete for admiration, or care much about what people think of her. While others struggle to prove their worth, Sky would rather be left alone. She is calm, reserved, and so emotionally unreadable that people often mistake her silence for weakness.

But there is something about her that people cannot ignore.

Her beauty is unusual, almost unreal. Her melodious voice carries a sweetness that lingers in the hearts of those who hear it. Her deep ocean-blue eyes, shaped like a lunar eclipse, can become as sharp as a cat’s when anger finally breaks through her calm exterior. Her bright golden hair, threaded with strange white strands that grow back no matter how often they are cut, is another mystery she has never been able to explain. She wears her hair as it is, just as she has learned to live with the things about herself that she does not understand.

Sky has never asked to be special. She has never begged the world to notice her. And perhaps that is what makes her so difficult to overlook.

Yet, the greatest mystery about Sky is not her beauty, her eyes, or her hair.

It is the life she cannot remember.

The woman she calls her mother is not the woman who gave birth to her. She took Sky in when the little girl was only three years old, after she had nearly lost her life. Since then, Sky has grown up knowing only the life she was given, unaware that the truth of her existence stretches far beyond anything she could imagine.

Because Sky is no ordinary girl.

She is the reincarnation of the Moon Goddess, the primordial being who gave life to the celestial realm. She created the stars when their light began to fade, gave life to the Sun and the Sky, and made the Moon her own vessel while entrusting her children with the remaining celestial domains.

Long before this lifetime, before the world she knows ever existed, Sky loved a man who was more than a god. He was the first and only primordial god, her husband, her beloved, and the one soul she would choose above everything else.

Their love was not spared by fate.

Their child, the Sun, was sealed away. His life force was stolen by an unknown entity who now calls himself the Ancient Sun Emperor. And when tragedy threatened to consume everything she loved, Sky made a sacrifice that cost her life.

She died trying to save her husband and the world.

But death could not end their story.

For five hundred years at a time, Sky would return through reincarnation, while the man she loved remained sealed in slumber until her return. Across lifetimes, beyond death and the cruel distance of time, his love endured. He waited for the woman who had once been his entire world, bound to a promise that neither time nor fate could truly erase.

And now, she is back.

Only this time, Sky remembers nothing.

She does not remember the man who loved her, the child she lost, the world she once created, or the sacrifice that tore her away from everything she held dear. She does not know that somewhere beyond her reach, a love that has survived centuries is waiting for her to return. To Sky, she is simply a girl trying to find her place in the world, unaware that her very existence carries the weight of a forgotten past.

Then she receives a scholarship to the same school where Diamond reigns supreme.

Two girls. Two lives that could not be more different.

One has spent her entire life being told she is special. The other has no idea just how extraordinary she truly is.

Diamond has the admiration of the world, the status, the beauty, and the future everyone envies. Sky has nothing she can explain, nothing she remembers, and a past that refuses to remain buried.

But the stars do not always shine as brightly as they appear, and even the moon can hide its light behind the darkness.

As their paths cross, the fragile worlds they know begin to shift. Beneath the rivalry, the secrets, and the struggle for power lies a truth far older than either girl can understand—a truth that could change everything they believe about themselves, their destinies, and the people they are meant to love.

And somewhere in the silence between the Moon and the Stars, a forgotten love waits to awaken.

When the Moon returns, will the Stars surrender their light—or will the heavens be torn apart before the truth is finally revealed?

THE ALPHA WHO REFUSED TO APOLOGIZE

Merrell Bunting: This story has a unique take on the shifter world. It is fairly quick moving and holds your interest but has some pretty glaring continuity issues which are distracting. I also did not care for the male lead’s complete refusal to acknowledge any emotional feelings for his mate. He always referred to...

Kritta_820: I enjoyed the storyline immensely and felt that it devolved from the average "small puny female wolf finds a royal mate." Sometimes the jumps between scenes and plots jumped ahead a little too far for my taste. For example when MC heard the update about her first mate the book suddenly changed to th...
