Chapter 1
In our daily lives, we often dream—or perhaps it is more accurate to say that we develop a deep admiration for something. And for that dream to become reality, we are sometimes required to sacrifice even the most precious things we possess.
Even Maryam, the so-called “nepo baby” whom no one truly admired, was no exception.Maryam had always been used to having everything provided for her by her powerful, egoistic family. She never truly had friends, and the few people who stayed around her did so for money or favors, drawn by her influential background.
Love and care were foreign concepts to her—just words she had heard, like entries in a dictionary she had never opened. Her family rarely spent time together unless a financial crisis threatened to pull them closer. Even then, their conversations revolved around expanding their empire.
One evening, Maryam sat alone at the long dining table, her plate untouched. Across from her, her father spoke on the phone, barely glancing in her direction.
"I don’t care how it’s done,” he said coldly. “Just make sure the deal goes through.”
Her mother scrolled through her tablet, occasionally nodding, but never once looking up.Maryam opened her mouth as if to speak, but closed it again. No one noticed.Silence had become her language.Surprisingly, this never seemed to bother her much. After all, she got everything she wanted.
Coming from a family of renowned architects, it was only natural that she, too, worked in the family’s architectural firm.Families have the power to either build or destroy a child, depending on the foundation laid during their upbringing.
On the surface, Maryam appeared strong and unshakable. But beneath that composed exterior, she was like an ice pack left under the scorching sun—slowly melting.İn her opinion, she had never received the attention a child deserved, whether from her parents or from those around her.
Being born with a silver spoon was not as easy as it seemed. No matter how hard she worked, people would always whisper:
“She comes from that family. That’s why.”
Though she wasn't easily shaken, there were moments when she broke down silently, staring at the ceiling of her room and wondering what she could possibly do to change it.
In life, we make choices—sometimes shaped by where we come from, and sometimes by the people who depend on us.Maryam’s sense of fashion was exceptional. One glance at her and anyone would assume she was a fashionista. At times, many even believed architecture had never truly been her passion. But in a family like hers, personal desires were irrelevant.Reputation was everything. One mistake could follow you for a lifetime. As a result, Maryam had made countless sacrifices while growing up, especially during her teenage years.
Decision-making often felt like choosing between vanilla and strawberry ice cream while having enough money for only one—knowing you would regret not tasting the other. Her love life was no different. She had never been given the freedom to explore it.İn her family, relationships were carefully planned. If she ever dated, it had to be someone from the same social class or an equally influential family. Her family’s decision was final. Her opinion never mattered.
These were just some of the many sacrifices Maryam had been forced to make.Yet Maryam had no idea that fate was already preparing someone whose life had been shaped by loss and justice rather than privilege. A man who had learned to endure without protection, without wealth, and without choice.Their worlds stood at opposite ends.
Yet destiny was already pulling them toward a collision neither of them was ready for. .
