Wedding Of Hatred
The luxurious bedroom of the Arora mansion glows beneath the golden lights. Red roses cover the enormous bed, while fragrant flower garlands hang around its carved wooden frame. The entire room is decorated for the wedding night of Jogi Arora and Mahi Arora.
But there is no love between the newly married couple.
Mahi sits on the decorated bed, wearing her heavy red bridal saree. Her wedding jewellery shines beneath the dim golden lights. The vermilion in her hair parting and the mangalsutra around her neck remind her of the marriage she never wants.
Her eyes burn with anger.
She marries Jogi Arora for one reason.
To kill him.
The man who destroys her household now stands as her husband.
Jogi enters their bedroom, wearing his black wedding sherwani. His expression remains cold as he closes the enormous wooden doors.
The sound of the lock makes Mahi turn towards him.
Jogi places the key inside his pocket.
Mahi angrily watches him.
Mahi – Why are you locking the door ??
Jogi slowly turns towards his newly married wife.
Jogi – Because I don't appreciate interruptions when I'm dealing with my wife.
Mahi – Don't call me your wife.
Jogi approaches the decorated bed.
Jogi – Then what should I call you ?? My enemy ?? My prisoner ?? Or the woman who now carries my surname ??
Mahi immediately stands.
Mahi – I will never accept your surname, Jogi.
Jogi catches her wrist before she can move past him.
Jogi – You already have it, Mahi Arora.
Mahi furiously pulls her wrist away.
Mahi – You forced me into this marriage. You know perfectly well that I never wanted to marry you. You will never have me, Jogi.
Jogi sits on the edge of their decorated bed, staring directly at her.
Jogi – Sit down.
Mahi – Don't order me.
Jogi – You are standing inside my mansion, inside my bedroom, wearing the symbols of a marriage with me. And you still believe you can command me ??
Mahi steps towards him with fury.
Mahi – I would rather die than accept you as my husband.
Jogi abruptly catches her arm and pulls her towards him.
Mahi loses her balance and falls against his chest. She immediately struggles to free herself.
Mahi – Release me.
Jogi grips her wrists, preventing her from striking him.
Jogi – Listen carefully, Mahi. Our marriage is complete. The ceremonies are finished. The witnesses have gone home. You can curse this marriage until sunrise, but you cannot erase it tonight.
Mahi – A marriage performed through force means nothing to me.
Jogi – It means enough for the entire world to address you as Mrs. Mahi Jogi Arora.
Mahi attempts to push him away.
Jogi releases one of her wrists, but she immediately raises her hand to slap him.
He catches her hand before it reaches his face.
Their furious eyes meet.
Jogi – Be careful, Mahi. Your anger is making you reckless.
Mahi – And your cruelty is making you believe you are untouchable.
Jogi gives her a cold smile.
Jogi – I don't need to be untouchable. I only need to make sure you understand who you have married.
Mahi – A murderer.
His smile disappears.
Mahi continues staring at him.
Mahi – A merciless murderer who destroys my entire household and then forces me to become his wife.
Jogi's jaw tightens.
Jogi – Watch your words.
Mahi – Why ?? Does the great Jogi Arora fear hearing what he has done ??
Jogi pulls her closer for a moment, his expression turning dangerously cold.
Jogi – Fear is a luxury I stopped entertaining years ago. Don't mistake my silence for weakness.
Mahi – Then kill me too. Finish whatever remains of my family.
Jogi stares at her.
Jogi – Death would end your suffering. I have no intention of giving you such an easy escape.
Mahi's eyes widen with fury.
Mahi – You are a monster.
Jogi – And yet, the monster is your husband.
She struggles against his grip again.
Mahi – I will never belong to you.
Jogi finally releases both her wrists.
Mahi immediately moves away from him and stands beside the decorated bed.
Jogi rises slowly.
Jogi – You misunderstand something, Mahi. I didn't marry you because I wanted your affection. I married you because I wanted you to carry the very name you despise.
Mahi clenches her fists.
Mahi – Your surname is a curse to me.
Jogi – Then consider this marriage your punishment. Every document you sign, every invitation you receive, every person who addresses you as Mrs. Arora will remind you of me.
Mahi – I will remove your name from my life.
Jogi – Try. But don't expect me to make it easy.
Mahi looks at the flowers covering their bed.
The decorations disgust her.
She angrily grabs a handful of red rose petals and throws them towards Jogi.
Mahi – You can decorate this room with a thousand roses, Jogi, but you cannot turn our marriage into something beautiful.
Jogi brushes a petal from his shoulder.
Jogi – Who told you I wanted something beautiful ??
Mahi looks at him.
Jogi – I didn't bring you here to celebrate love. I brought you here because revenge looks far more satisfying when my enemy is forced to live beneath my roof.
Mahi – Then you have made the greatest mistake of your life.
Jogi tilts his head.
Jogi – Have I ??
Mahi moves closer, her eyes blazing.
Mahi – Yes. Because the woman you have married has nothing left to lose. And one day, Jogi Arora, I will punish you with my own hands.
For several seconds, Jogi studies her expression.
Then he laughs coldly.
Jogi – Alright. Keep that anger alive. I would be disappointed if my wife surrendered on our wedding night.
Mahi – I will never surrender to you.
Jogi – Then prepare yourself for a very long marriage.
Mahi turns towards the locked bedroom door.
Mahi – Open it. I refuse to spend another minute near you.
Jogi walks towards the door but makes no attempt to unlock it.
Jogi – You can have the bed. I will take the couch. But you are not walking out of this room tonight simply because you want to prove a point.
Mahi – You cannot imprison me forever.
Jogi – Forever is a very long time, Mahi. For now, you have an entire lifetime to regret marrying me.
Mahi watches him remove his black sherwani jacket and place it on the couch.
He turns off several lights, leaving the room illuminated by a faint golden glow.
Mahi remains beside the decorated bed.
She looks at the mangalsutra resting against her neck.
Her fingers close around it.
She wants to tear it away.
But instead, she looks towards Jogi.
He is sitting on the couch, his expression unreadable.
Mahi – One day, you will beg me to release you from this marriage.
Jogi slowly raises his eyes.
Jogi – And one day, you will learn that Jogi Arora never begs.
Mahi – Everyone falls eventually.
Jogi – Then make sure you are strong enough to watch when I do.
Mahi turns away from him and sits on the opposite edge of their decorated bed.
She removes her heavy earrings with trembling fingers.
Her anger remains fierce.
Jogi watches her for a moment before turning his face towards the dark window.
Neither offers an apology.
Neither wishes to forgive.
And beneath the same roof, two enemies begin their married life with only revenge between them.
Mahi silently promises herself that she will destroy Jogi Arora.
While Jogi remains determined to make Mahi regret the day she becomes an Arora.
Neither knows that the hatred consuming their marriage will eventually lead them towards feelings neither is prepared to accept.
