Chapter 1 A spill of trouble
~ Amaya's pov :
It was Sunday. I was lying on the couch, watching TV and scrolling through my phone lazily.
“Amaya!” my mom called from the kitchen. “Someone rang the doorbell. Can you open the door?”
“Ahh Mumma, I’m watching TV,” I replied.
“Open the door, beta. I’m busy cooking.”
“Fine, I’m going,” I sighed and got up.
When I opened the door, I saw my friends standing outside.
“What are you doing here?” I asked in surprise.
One of them smiled. “Hey Amaya! Tomorrow is our first day of college, so we’re going shopping to buy some outfits. Do you want to come?”
I thought about it for a second. “Wait, let me ask Mumma.”
I went to the kitchen.
“Mumma, my friends are going to the mall to buy clothes for college. Can I go with them?”
“No,” she replied immediately. “You’re not going anywhere today.”
“But Mumma, I don’t even have proper clothes to wear for college!”
“So go naked,” she said jokingly while stirring the food.
“Mumma!” I groaned. “Please let me go with them.”
But she didn’t listen.I walked back to the door and told my friends I couldn’t come. After some time, they left.I sat on the couch angrily.
After a while, my mom came to me.
“Okay, okay,” she said. “You can go if you want.”
My eyes widened. “Really?”
“Yes. But come back on time.”
I quickly called my friends.
“Where are you guys?”
“We’re already at the mall,” they said and sent me the address.
Without wasting any time, I rushed out of the house and started walking quickly toward the mall.
As I reached near the mall entrance, there was a café in front of me. I was hurrying when suddenly the café door opened and someone walked out. Before I could stop myself, I bumped straight into him.
The cold coffee in his hand spilled on my dress.
I gasped as the cold liquid touched the front of my top.
“What the hell!” I said in shock.
The guy looked at me with an annoyed expression.
“Are you blind?” he asked.
“Excuse me?” I snapped. “I’m sorry, but you’re the one who spilled coffee on me!”
“You ran into me,” he replied calmly.
“But look at my dress!” I said angrily.
He shrugged slightly. “I don’t know.”
Then he walked toward his bike, put on his helmet, and left.
I stood there in disbelief.
“What an arrogant guy,” I muttered.
After that rude encounter, I finally reached the mall where my friends were waiting for me.
“Amaya! What happened to you?” one of them asked, staring at the coffee stains on my dress.
“Don’t ask,” I groaned. “Some arrogant idiot spilled his coffee on me and then blamed me for it.”
“Wow… great start before college,” my friend laughed.
I rolled my eyes. “If I ever see that guy again, I swear I’ll—”
“Okay okay, calm down,” another friend interrupted. “Let’s just shop.”
We spent the next two hours buying dresses for college. By the time I returned home, I was tired but also a little excited.
Tomorrow was my first day of college.
