My Beloved Alif

Humans, dervishes , no-one realises Alif's secret. You may just see Alif as a Letter of the arabic language but you do not see the power it holds. If you take those heavy veils away from your eyes you will see that Alif is everywhere. The letter Alif is beloved to us and it illuminates the heart so much that when love broke us and turned us to dust , Alif brought us back again. Alif could mean alot to people, for some Alif could symbolise their love, for some their loyalty and for some it reminds them of their beloved. Alif gives courage. You may Ask how does Alif give courage? Well simply put , the letter Alif wherever it is placed in a word , wherever Alif is it is upright and straight , Alif never bows down maybe if Alif was before Allah then it will bow. Do not be arrogant and prideful but be like Alif , upright against injustice and evil wherever you are, always be strong and never bow down except to the beloved. How is Alif everywhere you ask? When you look at the second finger , the finger that comes after the thumb we call this the finger of tawheed or shahadah. Why do we call it this? It is because when we hold only this finger up we mean to say there is One God , That finger is straight like Alif, this means that Alif represents tawhid. The same with minarets. You see a minaret towering over the land and you should think this Alif is magnificent, why ? Because Alif is saying to the world no matter how much bad you do , you have built me here and I am holding up the sky and represent tawhid. Come to me O sinners for prayer indeed it is time to turn toward your beloved. This is the purpose of a minaret is it not its for the adhan. How does Alif turn the lover from dust into one again , how does Alif fix that broken heart of yours? When our hearts break we are lost in spiritual ecstasy , we are lost in the realm of love. We realise on this path that once your heart breaks on this path we are alone. No-One comes to aid and no-one can fix you. Love is such a beauty that when the lover is approached by the people of dunya the lover may go and not speak at all because this for him could mean that in every breath and word he utters the name of his beloved is not being said. People of love are the people of loyalty. To the outside world the lover is depressed but to those who are on this path then the lover is in a state of self-realisation and is lost in his love. This is why a dervish turns and turns while repeating the name of the beloved while doing zikr because he is lost on this path and is trying to call out to the beloved to find the path again. The dervish is always searching. Once we are broken do you think that we can be repaired by the deluded world anymore. Alif finds us , we unite with Alif and when broken we turn to Alif to repair us. Not only does Alif stand for tawhid but the letter Alif is the first letter of the name Allah. People do not know who Alif is , remember Alif is the lord. Alif is the secret of the aashiq and the secret of Alif is the aashiq. You have seen the letter Alif it has a slight bend at the top just like a dervish. If Alif can stand there out of love then you should stand out of love. I do not know the secret of Alif, Maybe Sheikh Abdulkadir Al Jilani (RA) knows. But I see Alif just like how I have explained it. A symbol of love , a symbol of tawhid, Those beautiful minarets that hold up our sky and remind us of our lord, Our finger, A symbol of loyalty. For me Alif is the truth.
