Chapter 1

✨ MY BEST FRIEND, MY BIGGEST WEAKNESS 🖤

Scene: School classroom. Morning

Zenxi was sitting on her desk, swinging her legs while Xisui sat beside her, reading a book.

Zenxi: Xisuiii!

Xisui: What?

Zenxi: Look at me.

Xisui: I'm looking at you.

Zenxi: No, you're looking at your book. Look at ME.

Xisui slowly lowered her book.

Xisui: Happy now?

Zenxi: Very.

Zenxi smiled brightly.

Xisui stared at her for a moment longer than necessary.

Xisui: You're annoying.

Zenxi: And yet, you love me.

Xisui's fingers tightened around her book.

Xisui: You have no idea.

Zenxi: What?

Xisui: Nothing.

Zenxi laughed and rested her head on Xisui's shoulder.

Zenxi: You're my favourite person in the entire world, you know that?

For a moment, Xisui forgot how to breathe.

Xisui: Don't say things like that.

Zenxi: Why?

Xisui: Because you don't understand what they do to me.

Zenxi: You're so dramatic.

Zenxi returned to her seat, completely unaware of the storm she had left behind.

Xisui watched her.

She had been in love with Zenxi for years.

She knew how Zenxi took her tea, which songs made her happy, what frightened her, and what made her cry.

She knew everything about her.

Everything except whether Zenxi could ever love her back.

Xisui (thought): You call me your best friend like it's the most beautiful thing in the world.

She looked away.

Xisui (thought): For me, it's the cruelest thing you've ever done.

PARIS IN THE DARK

Hester: Very good, was short too the point , not lingering on the abuse, pity you didn’t let him step in earlier knowing the abuse was happening, but this is almost real for some women who have gone through it, just wish they could all have a princess at te end of thete tunnel

Ashley: I enjoyed the story. It was a short one so the fast pace fit. I think something should be put in to show a time jump between paragraphs like a "****" just to make it easier to follow when we skip to the next day week or month. Over all a good read.
