Volume 1

When coincidences pile up, a miracle will be born. Or is it?

Who knew that one bump can change each other's fate? A fateful meeting when both crossed paths. What will happen now?

On a bright morning day, the campus is as loud and crowded as it has always been. Among the crowds, there was this girl with an interesting personality that piqued the interest of certain people.

As the time went on, she was walking in the hallway with her friends during lunch break.

“Have you guys heard the rumor? Isaac broke up with the beautiful senior at the business department because ‘he was just tired of it’?” Anna said as she beamed to gossip to the group. “Yeah, right. I heard it was his seventh girlfriend this month. He's totally a playboy.” Mira replied with a judgmental tone. “Oh please, it's not like you didn't play around with boys too, Mira." Lena replied with a hopeless face. “I heard you dumped someone again because they were ‘too loud’."

Among them all, in the middle, a girl with striking beautiful appearance, was just casually reading a book. It looks like she doesn't care about the rumors or anything. They were talking back and forth about things like the rumors and why Mira did that.

“Are you listening, Mylphie?" Mira looked at Mylphie as she was snapped back to their attention. “O-oh, u-uh… yeah… totally…" she replied while stuttering. She clearly didn't hear anything they're talking about and was drawn by a book.

Mira looked at her suspiciously. “Really? What did I say last then?" She asked. “Oh...uhm... I'm sorry... I was distracted by this book." She replied with an apologetic voice. Anna hugged Mylphie from behind, wrapping her arms on Mylphie's neck. “Come on, Mira. Don't be grumpy and take it on our innocent Mylphie~" Anna said while embracing Mylphie from behind.

Lena pinched Mira's cheeks gently. “Alright, that's enough now. Mira, don't be mean." Lena said nicely without hurting Mira's feelings.

Their group is known as the “Idols". They were beautiful. Starting with Lena Cruz. She was known for having a gentle nature and matured one that acts like an older sister in their group. She has long blonde hair and green eyes. Second is Mira. Unlike Lena whose gentle spirit, she plays around men's feelings and dumps them. She has black wolf cut hair and violet eyes. Thirdly is Anna. She was known as the childish type and the one who brings everyone in the good mood due to her bright personality. She has brown hair and green eyes just like Lena. Three of them were popular because of their looks and personality. But the fourth one was the one who gathered the most attention. Mylphie Orphela. She has strikingly beautiful long silver hair, bright silver eyes, white skin as pale as snow, and a slender frame despite being petite. Everyone was drawn to her natural scent which was said to be intoxicating.

She was polite, kind, gentle and sweet. Though, she was a bookworm. She loves to read books and got a nickname “The bibliography princess".

"Look, that's them.” A passing student whispered to the other guy. "Woah, Lena looks gorgeous today.” One guy said. "Looks like Mira is off the mood today. But that's cute.” Another guy said to the other guy. "Anna looks happy again today. Did something good happen again?” A group of girls whispered. But one caught most of the attention. "Mylphie looks more lovely than ever.” one fanboy said. “Oh my gosh, where did she buy that dress?" A girl whispered to her friend.

Later, the bell rang. Signaling the end of lunch break.

"I'm off to go. See you guys later.” Lena said while waving goodbye and walking towards the engineering department. "Later.” Mira replied while walking towards the business and economics department. “Let's go grab a bite after class~" she waved goodbye as she walked to her art department. “I’ll be at the library… see you guys later..." Mylphie said with a soft voice as she headed to the library.

While on her way to the library, she bumped into someone.

“Ow…I'm sorry… are you okay?" She asked. She clearly didn't know who she bumped with. “Oh? Sorry I wasn't looking." He replied. He looked at her and recognized her. “Oh wait, are you the ‘bibliography princess’?" He asked while grinning mischievous. She turned red because she always turned flustered every time she got called that. "P-please... s-stop calling me… that…” she pleaded.

He looked at her, really looked at her as if he was seeing a girl flustered for the first time. "Pfft… HAHA!" He laughed. “W-why are you laughing?" She asked, wondering why he laughed so suddenly. “Oh, I'm sorry. My bad, my bad. I didn't mean to call you with that nickname. Everybody calls you that and I heard a lot about you. I don't know your name so I called you that." He explained to clear up his intentions. “...Mylphie." She said her name with a soft and polite voice. “A second year… at the medical department…" She followed up.

"Mylphie…" he tested her name on his mouth as if tasting what it would feel like. “What a beautiful name just like you." He said. “I'm Isaac Valmont, a third year student in the business and economics department. I guess I'm your senior.” He grinned. "Where are you off to? Don't you have classes?” He asked. "We only have… morning classes this week… so I was off to the library to kill some time.” She replied. "Really? I only have morning classes too but only on this day. Lucky for you, medical department." He replied and joked about the last part.

Mylphie had no idea who he was and the rumors about him and he noticed that so he couldn't help but smirk. It seems that he found his new target. The infamous “pure and innocent woman".

"So, since we both had spare time, how about we go to the nearby cafe?” He asked. "I-I… I don't know, senior…" she replied while hesitating. “Come on, accompany me, please? And no need to call me senior. Just Isaac. Okay, Mylphie?" He said as he tried to invite her out. “A-alright… Isaac…” she replied, giving in. He grinned in victory as he successfully invited her to the cafe. "Sweet, their coffee is so good you won't regret it.” He said while walking to the cafe.

In the cafe. He lines up at the counter.

“Good afternoon Sir, Ma'am. What can I get for the two of you?” The barista asked. "Uhm… I would like to get… caramel coffee… and strawberry sliced cake…" she replied. “One caramel coffee with strawberry sliced cake." The barista repeated it as he took down notes. “I'll get a black coffee." He ordered. “Sure thing. Please wait for a moment."

Both of them settled down in the corner near the window. “So Mylphie, is this your first time going to a cafe?" He asked bluntly. “No… I've been going to cafes with my friends…” she replied. "Oh, is that so? Your circle is really famous as they say." He said. “R-really? I haven't… thought about it.” She replied, really had no idea that they were that famous.

Their order arrived. “Here you go. One caramel coffee with strawberry sliced cake and a black coffee. Enjoy." The server said while setting up their order. “Thank you…” she said to the server with a polite and kind voice. "No problem, Ma'am.” the server replied, clearly happy because no one thanked a server before, only a few people did.

And in that moment, Isaac was drawn to her even more. As if she was charming him unintentionally. And for the first time in his whole life, the playboy's heart skipped a beat. Though, he refused to admit it.

“So uh… Mylphie… are you always that kind?” He asked. He wanted to know her better, to uncover a side no one knew. "W-well.. being mean is exhausting… but being kind to others without any exception brings a smile to others." She replied and took her sip in her caramel coffee in a calm grace. "I see…” he muttered under his breath. "Why do you ask?” She asked, catching him off guard. "I.. I wanted to get to know you better.” He replied.

She tilts her head in confusion. Since she doesn't understand, she just answered bluntly. "I like to read books… I like cats… I love the color pink… I also like movies… and I love flowers…” she said. He was dumbfounded and holding himself from laughing way too hard. "Pfft.. HAHA!" he laughed. She tilts her head again in confusion. “Why are you laughing?" She asked in confusion. “Sorry, haha. I just didn't expect you to say that honestly." He replied while still laughing.

Later, after finishing their coffee and food, they decided to part ways.

“Thank you for your treat, Isaac. I'll pay you back soon." She said with a grateful voice. “No need. I was the one who invited you. It was just unfortunate that we can't go back together.” He replied. " My friends and I had plans later after their class… so sorry. And thank you.” She said, apologizing to not hurt his feelings. “Can we exchange LINE?" he asked. She was caught off guard and didn't expect him to ask for it. “S-sure… here…” she gave her LINE. It was her first time giving her LINE other than her friends. A notification popped off. "New contact info: Isaac Valmont.”

And just like that, they bid their goodbyes. At the campus, her friends are waiting for her.

“Where were you, Mylphie?" Lena asked gently. “Mylphie, you need to message us if you're going out." Mira said though it lacked her usual bite. "It's a good thing you returned safely." Anna said while giving Mylphie a warm hug. “I'm fine, really. And I'm sorry for not letting you guys know beforehand." She apologized. “It's fine. How about we grab a bite somewhere?” Lena asked. " Whatever. I'm hungry.” Mira just scoffed it off. Refusing to admit she was also worried about Mylphie. "I call on the seat next to her~” Anna said, her childish side surfacing.

A few days later, a rumor had spread. A passerby saw them at the cafe that day and the news spread wildly. The headlines were "The star playboy found its new prey and it's the ‘bibliography princess’. When it reached her friends' ears, they wouldn't let it go easily. So they set up a trap to interrogate her without her running away.

Lena messaged on their LINE group chat. “Mylphie, Mira and Anna said they wanted a sleepover tonight. Come at seven, okay?" She messaged, knowing Mylphie can't refuse them given by her nature. “Since when did I say that?" Mira replied but she quickly followed up with another reply, "ah right. I did say that earlier. See you later, Mylphie.”. Anna replied with just emojis that means she's looking forward to it later. So she replied with "okay. Let me drop my stuff at my apartment first then get some clothes before going.”

Later at night, she arrived at the front door of Lena's apartment. She knocked gently. The door opened and Lena greeted her with a warm smile. “Welcome, Mylphie. Come in. Mira and Anna are inside the bedroom, settling their stuff in there." Lena said with a gentle sister voice, unbeknownst that a danger awaits her.

She went inside to settle her stuff. “Mylphie~! You're here. Take a bath first and change into your night clothes." Anna suggested, as she is letting her relax before the interrogation. “Go ahead. I'll cook something for us." Mira said. “Alright, I'll be back for a bit~" Mylphie said before going straight to the bathroom.

Later while taking a bath, in the living room. “We're gonna ask her about everything." Lena said to the other two. "How could she not say anything to us?” Mira said, acting like she was offended. Anna just giggled as she was excited. Meanwhile, she was enjoying her bath, humming softly. Completely oblivious to what awaits her.

After eating dinner. "Wow, I didn't know you can cook, Mira.” Mylphie said. "Yeah right.” Mira just scoffed it off. Suddenly, the atmosphere became heavy. The silence was heavy.

"So… mind if you tell us the details?” Lena said. She still kept her gentle smile but a dangerous one. "A-about what exactly?” She replied, completely had no idea about what they're talking about. "Come on~ don't act so innocent, my dear Mylphie.” Anna said.

"So, mind telling us the details about the rumors about you and Isaac?” Mira asked bluntly. “Oh…that? I-it's true.. that I went with him to the cafe.” Mylphie replied, hesitating because the atmosphere is heavy. She knew her friends were hungry for gossip. “Why didn't you tell us that day?" Anna asked. “You could have said something to us."

“We just… went to a cafe to have some coffee… nothing else…" she left the exchanging contact out of the talk. Who knows what they will say. "Really? If that's all, it's good. Don't let him get closer to you, okay?" Lena said. Her voice was full of concern for her. “You remember the rumors about him? The beautiful senior from the business and economics class had a boyfriend but broke up with him just to be with Isaac only to be dumped by him. Talk about the irony." Mira said. “We won't let him get our innocent Mylphie hmph~!" Anna declared while hugging Mylphie.

“He's such a waste though. He has a good look. That color black of his hair is cool and his strikingly beautiful red eyes. And not to mention, his handsome face with a sharp jaw line." Mira said. “Yeah, I even heard he's rich and the son of the CEO of a company that produces yachts and cruises. That's hella rich.” Anna said. "If he was just normal, I could give him a chance to Mylphie but nope.” Lena said while sighing because he's hopeless.

"But seriously Mylphie. It's best for you to not get involved with him.” Lena said. “But I think he is a good guy. Maybe those are just rumors." She replied. The three of them went still. Mira dropped her cup before filling it with some water. Anna’s jaw is wide open in pure unadulterated shock. And thus, they spent the rest of the night lecturing Mylphie about why she shouldn't get involved with him.

Tomorrow morning. She was on the bench, feeling sleepy since they stayed up late. Around the corner, Isaac and his friends were chatting.

“Isaac. Heard you found your new prey?" One of his friends asked. “A prey, huh?" One guy said. “She's pretty interesting." He replied. “What? Just interesting?" One guy asked. “Give up now, Isaac. That woman had never been in a relationship before." Joseph said. Joseph has been his close best friend since childhood. "You just don't know yet, Joseph.” He replied while smirking. "Your choice, your loss.” Joseph replied. He looked around and spotted her on the bench. "Talk to y'all later. Found something interesting.” He said while walking away. “And there he goes again…” Joseph just resigned because he's hopeless.

Meanwhile, she was slowly dozing off because of the chilly weather and lack of sleep until a cold coffee can touched her cheeks. “Hick.." she touched her cheeks as she turned around. She saw Isaac grinning behind her. "You look like you were about to hibernate,” he said while smirking. "Here, might help you stay awake." He gave her the coffee can. “T-thank you… I just didn't get enough sleep last night…" she said while she accepted the coffee and took a sip.

He sat down beside her. “So, what are your plans for today?" He asked. “Waiting for my class… it starts around 9:30 AM… it's just 8 AM so…” she replied. "Then wanna hang out? Or we can just stay here until the next class.” He asked. "It's nice out here… and I don't think I have the energy to walk around… sorry." She answered, despite knowing she was warned about him. But she can't just ignore someone.

Later, her friends found her. When they approached her, they stopped on their tracks. "Hey Mlyp—” Lena trailed off when she saw him. “What are you doing with her, Isaac?" Lena asked, looking at him suspiciously. Anna snuggled Mylphie to shield her away from Isaac. “You're not getting our Mylphie. At least, not in our watch. Hmph!" While Mira just glared at Isaac.

"Relax, girls. I'm just accompanying her. Right, Mylphie?” He said. “Y-yeah.. he was just accompanying me because.. my class hasn't started yet." She tried to explain but her friends just glared at her so she just stayed quiet.

"Don't act like you don't live up to your rumors, Isaac.” Lena said. "Found her as your new prey? Nice try but we won't let you.” Mira said while still glaring at him. "Targeting innocent girls like our Mylphie? You ain't getting her, playboy.” Anna said, refusing to let Mylphie go. “Let's go, Mylphie." Lena said. “B-but…" she didn't finish when Mira cut it off. “No buts.” She said while Anna dragged her.

Meanwhile, he was left standing alone there. He just looked at them disappearing around the corner. He can't help but smirk because he found an interesting one.

What will happen next? Will he pursue her? Or give up on her? Fate knows.
