Summary

After her stepfather's sudden death, privileged university student Raven Woods thinks her biggest problem is surviving her mother's pristine, high-society facade. But everything shatters when Greer and Emrys Riley move into her home. The twins are striking, calculated, and carrying a bitter hunger for revenge against everything Raven's family represents. To the rest of the world, they are a mystery. To Raven, they are her undoing. As the lines between predator and protector blur into a suffocating, addictive heat, Raven must uncover the truth before the brothers' secrets completely destroy her. After all, the most dangerous place to hide is right between the monsters.

Content Warning ⚠️

This is a dark, psychological, why-choose romance intended for mature readers (18+).

This story explores morally gray characters, obsession, revenge, betrayal, and relationships built on manipulation and deceit. The characters in this book are deeply flawed, and their actions should not be mistaken for examples of healthy or acceptable relationships.

Please be aware that this book contains mature and potentially disturbing themes, including:

* Explicit sexual content and strong language

* Obsessive, possessive, and controlling behavior

* Psychological manipulation, gaslighting, and sexual/emotional abuse

* Revenge plots, calculated cruelty, and betrayal

* Toxic relationships, jealousy, and infidelity

* Bullying, public humiliation, and social isolation

* Physical violence, threats, and intimidation

* Grief, parental abandonment, and complicated family relationships

* References to suicide and its lasting effects on surviving family members

* Morally ambiguous characters and blurred boundaries

* Taboo romantic relationships between adult stepsiblings who are not biologically related

* Polyamorous/why-choose romantic relationships involving two brothers

This is not a story about good people making good decisions.

It is about the consequences of someone else's sins, the cruelty of revenge, and what happens when the people determined to destroy you become the very people you cannot stop loving.

There are no perfect heroes here. There are no innocent intentions behind every touch, every promise, or every kiss.

Read at your own discretion.🖤🥀

Hester: Very good, was short too the point , not lingering on the abuse, pity you didn’t let him step in earlier knowing the abuse was happening, but this is almost real for some women who have gone through it, just wish they could all have a princess at te end of thete tunnel

Feliz: I am learning a lot about hockey because of the almost commentator-like transcript that is part of the storytelling style of the book. I like it. Coming from a country where there is no hockey culture, I am beginning to understand why it has so many fans.

lblomme: I always love a story where good overcomes evil. The sad start, the growth, and ultimate strength of the main character was well done. The story never lagged and ultimately delivered a happy ending even for characters who were less than stellar. Well done!

Ashley: I enjoyed the story. It was a short one so the fast pace fit. I think something should be put in to show a time jump between paragraphs like a "****" just to make it easier to follow when we skip to the next day week or month. Over all a good read.
