Author Note
Before we dive into the story of Alice Miller and Thomas Whitcomb, I want to put out a disclaimer..!! Names like Alice Miller and Thomas Whitcomb were probably pretty common back in seventeenth century New England. So while these people MAY HAVE truly existed, these two particular characters belong to my imagination.
Let's take a quick roll call of REAL witch trial victims: Bridget Bishop • Sarah Good • Elizabeth Howe • Susannah Martin • Rebecca Nurse • Sarah Wildes • George Burroughs • Martha Carrier • George Jacobs • John Proctor • John Willard • Giles Corey • Martha Corey • Mary Easty • Alice Parker • Ann Pudeator • Wilmot Redd • Margaret Scott • Samuel Wardell • Mary Parker
While a few of those names may pop up in our story, I mean nothing but the utmost respect for them. The story will stay true to the hysteria and suspicion surrounding these individuals and what they went through but at no point will any of them act in a way that suggests they were truly witches. All of their names have been cleared of ANY wrong doings and we will be keeping it that way. All respect to their families that still live on to this day.
I also want to make my respect for Salem, Massachusetts known. The town is beautiful and rich in history, even dark history. No slander of Salem, victims, or even accusers will be tolerated. While these tragedies happened 334 years ago, nasty and hateful comments on the internet will not rewrite history. We will be respectful.
I do not own the photos used and do not claim them. I found them on the internet and they had the aesthetic I was looking for. All credits go to the owners because they are truly beautiful works of art.
