The Call That Changed everything
Clara Winston pulled over in front of her mom's apartment, exhausted after a stressful day at her fourth job at a coffee shop.Just as she was about to get out of the taxi,her phone rang .she glanced at the screen and saw the name Dr.Suzzan clara frowned. Why would her mother's doctor be calling her at this hour? She answered immediately
"Hello,Dr.Suzzan".
"Clara,where are you right now?" the doctor asked,her voice unusually serious.
"I'm almost home.Is everything okay? Is something wrong with my mother ".There was a brief silence on the other end of the call.
" Clara ,l need you to come to the hospital as soon as possible . There's something important we need to discuss." Clara's heart began to pound.
"What is it, Doctor? Please you're frightening me.Has something happened to my mother "
" I don't want to explain everything over the phone,Clara . please ,come as soon as you can ". Before Clara could ask another question , the call ended .she shared at her phone,her mind racing with terrible possibilities.
"Please ,God let my mother be okay" she whispered.she quickly hailed a taxi .As she got the hospital,she quickly paid the taxi driver, stepped out,and hurried into the hospital.
