Prophecy
A thousand years ago, Earth had already succumbed to the corrosive greed of humanity, rendering it a hostile place for future generations. The skies had darkened beneath endless smoke, oceans had turned into graveyards of forgotten civilizations, and the land itself bore the scars of war, exploitation, and destruction. Kingdoms rose only to collapse beneath their own hunger for power, while the cries of the innocent were drowned by the relentless pursuit of wealth and dominion. Humanity had once been entrusted with a thriving world, yet they consumed it without restraint until nothing pure remained.
Furious at the devastation mortals had inflicted upon their sacred creation, the Gods of the Universe looked upon Earth with grief and disappointment. For centuries, they debated whether mankind deserved salvation or extinction. Many among the divine believed humanity was beyond redemption, that their endless greed would poison every world they touched. Others, however, still saw fragments of goodness hidden within mortal souls-small sparks of compassion buried beneath centuries of corruption.
In the end, mercy prevailed over wrath.
The Gods allowed chaos to overtake the dying Earth, letting ancient storms, raging fires, and crumbling seas reclaim what humanity had destroyed. Yet before the final collapse of the world, the Gods gathered the last remnants of their divine strength and created a new realm far beyond the reaches of the ruined planet. They named this world Akhali-a land untouched by humanity's corruption, overflowing with life, wonder, and boundless beauty.
Towering forests stretched endlessly beneath silver skies, rivers shimmered with healing energy, and mountains glowed with celestial light. Strange creatures roamed freely across the land, some gentle and majestic, others fierce and mysterious. Akhali was unlike Earth in every way; it was a world born not from destruction, but from hope.
The souls of the unjust from Earth were granted a second chance through rebirth in Akhali. Rather than condemning them to eternal punishment, the Gods allowed humanity the opportunity to atone for the sins of their former lives. Those reborn in Akhali carried no memories of Earth, yet fragments of their past selves lingered deep within their souls. Through suffering, kindness, sacrifice, and love, they would either redeem themselves or repeat the mistakes that had doomed their previous world.
But this act of divine mercy came at a terrible cost.
The creation of Akhali drained the Gods of nearly all their power. Their light faded, their voices grew silent, and one by one, the celestial beings fell into a deep slumber. Before their rest, however, they sensed something lurking beyond the edges of their newborn world-a dark abyss that neither light nor prophecy could fully comprehend. It was ancient, formless, and patient, silently creeping toward Akhali like a shadow waiting to consume the stars themselves.
Knowing they would not remain awake to protect their creation, the Gods forged a sacred tribe to stand as guardians of Akhali.
They were called the Sorcière.
Known throughout history as the Messengers of the Gods, the Sorcière were unlike any other people in Akhali. While ordinary mortals could manipulate only the four elemental forces-fire, water, earth, and wind-the Sorcière wielded powers far beyond mortal understanding. Some could bend shadows and light, others could heal mortal wounds with a touch, while a few possessed the terrifying ability to glimpse fragments of fate itself. Their magic flowed directly from the divine essence of the sleeping Gods, making them both revered and feared.
Yet the origins of the Sorcière remained shrouded in mystery. No records spoke of how they were truly created, and the tribe itself guarded its secrets fiercely. They lived apart from the kingdoms of mankind, dwelling in hidden sanctuaries deep within enchanted forests and forgotten mountains. Though their purpose was to protect Akhali, their immense power caused unease among ordinary humans. Rumors spread across villages and empires alike, twisting the Sorcière into creatures of fear rather than guardians of peace.
Over time, they became known not as protectors, but as the Witches of the West.
Despite the hatred directed toward them, the Sorcière remained loyal to their sacred duty. For centuries, they fought against the dark abyss that slowly seeped into Akhali. Monstrous creatures emerged from corrupted lands, entire villages vanished beneath unnatural darkness, and whispers of madness spread among mortals. Wherever despair took root, the Sorcière stood against it, sacrificing countless lives to preserve the fragile balance of the world.
But humanity, blinded once more by fear, greed, and envy, failed to see their sacrifice.
Kings and rulers began to view the Sorcière not as guardians, but as threats to their growing power. The tribe's connection to the Gods inspired jealousy among those who sought control over Akhali. Whispers of rebellion and betrayal spread through royal courts, fueling paranoia across nations. Humanity convinced itself that the Sorcière intended to rule the world they were sworn to protect.
And so, history repeated itself.
The kingdoms of Akhali united in secret and launched a brutal purge against the Sorcière Tribe. Sanctuaries were burned to ashes, sacred knowledge was destroyed, and countless Sorcière were hunted down without mercy. Men, women, and even children were slaughtered beneath banners proclaiming justice and peace. Those who survived vanished into hiding, their existence erased from history like a forgotten nightmare.
Without the Sorcière to defend it, Akhali began to wither.
The corruption of the abyss spread unchecked across the land. Forests once filled with life became cursed wastelands, rivers blackened with decay, and ancient creatures descended into madness. The balance carefully preserved by the Gods began to shatter, while humanity once again divided itself between forces of good and evil.
Now, with the Gods still trapped in their eternal slumber and the Sorcière nearly extinct, Akhali stands on the brink of ruin. Darkness continues to rise from the abyss, consuming everything in its path. Ancient prophecies speak of a coming calamity that will determine the fate of the world itself.
Akhali's future hangs in the balance, awaiting either the awakening of its forgotten guardians-or the rise of an unexpected hero destined to confront the encroaching abyss before all light is swallowed forever.
