The Girl Who Wasn't Loved Enough

All Rights Reserved ©

Summary

She loved him enough to stay. He loved her enough to keep her close-but never enough to give her the love she deserved. She waited. She forgave. She gave him chance after chance, hoping that one day he'd finally choose her. But how long can someone keep loving when love begins to make them question their own worth? Sometimes, the hardest lesson isn't learning that someone doesn't love you. It's learning that their inability to love you was never proof that you weren't worth loving.

Prologue

The words she had waited years to hear finally came too late.

"I love you."

She stared at him.

After everything she'd imagined, she'd thought those words would make her happy. But they didn't.

Her smile fades. A tightness grips her chest. Her eyes fill with tears.

She remembers a time when he looked at her with tenderness. It had made her believe he loved her.

She looks deeply into his eyes, searching for the tenderness she once knew. There, she sees a familiar yearning.

She recognizes the yearning and tenderness she once loved, but something has changed. She realizes:

He may have loved her in his own way, but he had never loved her enough.
