Chapter 1

The world was as it always was. Slow somewhat quiet and filled the noise of cars and crack heads screaming at a wall thinking its their wives. Jason a 25 year old getting ready for his office job. He got dressed and left and went to work. The clacking of keyboards with the occasional slurp of coffee. Jason sighed sat down and did his own typing.

“Smith!! Where is the report I am owed?!!” ,came a loud voice from three or four desks down. A man with a suit and round stomach walks next to Jason. Three terrible seconds later he starts again. “Smith. Where is the reports I am owed?”

Jason sighed out whatever last bit of happiness remained in his soul, turned toward his manager, and prepared himself for another thrilling day of pretending his job mattered.

“Yes Sir Matthews the report will be done in two days.” , said Jason gritting his teeth hoping the fat fuck would break and fall into a mole person’s home keeping them fed for months.”Bullshit kid!! You said that two weeks ago!” ,said matthews while huffing. “Sir I know. My mom and sister where in a car crash and I needed to help them” , Jason said while thinking back to how his mother looked. Hooked up on pipes and a bruised, puffed and bloody face. His sister only had a broken leg and arm. “Yeah yeah yeah they don’t bring me money kid I don’t give a damn. Get those reports on my table by Friday or your fired. As you should have been a while ago” ,Matthews said leaving Jason with the burning rage and somewhat humiliation.

His shift ended late 22:00

His walk home was quiet filled with the resentment of his work life and the stress about his mother. How could that asshole tell him his family matters nothing, how they don’t bring him money. Jason cursed under his breath ad continued walking home. Suddenly there was a commotion in the alley. A man with sunken in eyes skin streached over bones and thining hair walk out and up to Jason trying to bite him. “Hey man get the hell off of me”, said Jason pushing the man back. The man gurgles once before going into a all out sprint towards Jason. He dodges and the man runs into a trash can making it topple over and setting near by dogs off and causing nearby home lights to be turned on.

It’s quiet for a few moments before the man Jason shoved starts moving. To Jason’s horror he accidentally broke the man’s leg. “ Oh God Jesus fucking Christ”, said Jason rushing to the man’s side trying to help. “I’ll call for an ambulance.”, Jason said shakenly while taking out his phone and dialing the emergency number Jason sees something strange. The man doesn’t look like he is in any pain. The ambulance quickly came and took the man away
