Summary

I am sharing a short intimidating poem. It's thrill is in its confusion. It's meaning is in its imagination. Thankyou

Specter Of Mine

On a fine evening Ms. Calate, was running a little late;

To reach her home, even though it holds no-one.

The air was cold, and the sky was shining like gold.

With some greetings from the sun,

She unlocked the door and stepped in.

Dusky eyesk inside,  were staring at her.

But she gave attention to none.

And headed towards her room.

She opened the door with a little creak

Unaware of what was inside for her seek.

After a little struggle she landed her hand on the switch board,

But the sudden flash of light kept her eyes closed;

In seconds her eyes were left broad.

“SHE” was in front of “HER”

.

.

.

Eyes seeking for an answer,

Lips seeking for a word,

Her hands and feet started trembling,

For an instant, she looked at the sealing

But again, her sight caught herself rumbling.

Confused? Shocked? Or Speechless?

Who was she? What was she?

How was she? Why was she?

She was ME!!

Neither mirrored nor shadowed

But in front of me, she stood.

Is it a dream? How realistic it seems…

After a few seconds, she smiled at me.

That creepy smile......

Or I smiled at myself?

Did Calate give Calate a smile?

She started walking towards me

Was this her fate? Was she a target ?

Should I make her my prey?

Or should I run away?

Thousands of questions in those seconds.

But each of them remained unanswered.

As both the Calates disappeared.
