The Universe Inside Me

The Universe Inside Me

— A conversation between my soul and nature

Sometimes, I look at the sky and wonder,

Does it hold secrets like mine?

Does it hide a thousand little storms,

Behind its beauty so divine?

For I, too, am a sky of changing colours,

A mixture of sunshine, clouds, and rain.

Some days, I bloom like flowers in spring,

Some days, I cannot explain my pain.

The wind knows the words I never speak,

It carries my thoughts through forests deep.

And when the world grows far too loud,

I find my peace beneath a cloud.

My thoughts are rivers, restless and wide,

Searching for shores where they can reside.

Some flow gently, some crash like the sea,

Yet all of them are a part of me.

My dreams are stars in a boundless night,

Some shine with hope, some fade from sight.

But even when darkness covers the blue,

I believe there are stars I haven't yet viewed.

There are mountains within my heart,

Strong on the outside, trembling apart.

There are valleys of memories, hidden and deep,

And wishes the world will never hear me keep.

Sometimes, I am autumn, letting things go;

Sometimes, a seed buried under the snow.

Sometimes, a forest no one has known,

Sometimes, a wildflower growing alone.

And perhaps that is what it means to be—

A little of the earth, the sky, and the sea.

To carry both sunshine and storms within,

To lose, to learn, to break, to begin.

I once searched the stars for a place to belong,

A world where my silence could turn into song.

I looked beyond oceans, beyond the blue,

Not knowing the universe was growing there, too.

Now I know I need not reach the sky

To understand the stars that live inside.

For every sunset, every breeze passing by,

Reflects a part of me I cannot deny.

I am the storm, and I am the sea,

The roots, the branches, the wild, growing tree.

I am the darkness, the dawn, the light.

A universe learning to shine through the night.

And if you ask where my soul longs to be,

I will point to the sky, the earth, and the sea.

For I am not separate from all I see—

The universe is out there. And the universe is inside me.
