PROLOGUE

The hums of the hovertrains filled the air is i walked and smelled the Airport-like air.I sat with my ticket in hand...metaphorical worms in my stomach as my feet were jittering a bit.Daydreams of my potential future as a pro mangaka filled my head as i carried a fat stack of manga in my bag.

"Hovertrain No.7 is ready to depart...kindly board by 8:00am"

I almost fell when i stood up...dashing to board...almost bulldozing a few passengers on the way.

Once I sat down...i could feel the worms going to my intestines as my way to the homeland of Manga was already sealed with my seatbelt.

That was till i sensed a familliar mix of colours waving at the window next to me...I turned and saw my mother...after a second of my body being conflicted...I left the train to check on her...she hugged me...although she had already done this last night multiple times...this one felt different.

She released...hands on my shoulders as she said her farewell words "Take care"

An imaginary tear fell off my cheek as i tried holding myself together.

"Of course,ma" i said as I finally released and returned to my seat...the doors sealed the hovercraft and my fate as the train raised off the bar.

I waved at her while she was inches away from breaking...my dad who appeared out of nowhere patted her back as he waved at me with a frown and an imaginary tear down his cheek.

A tube covered the hovertrain so as to connect us to the sub-system...and we began accelerating.

"Next stop,Japan. Please be cooperative during the 7 hour journey...(Japanese Translation)"

As we were about to reach peak speed...I wore my headphones and fell asleep.

'Let's welcome The King of Mangaka of this era...Arctos!  Cheer!

Thank you for having me here...'

Hehehehe

"Mommy...why is he laughing"

"Just keep walking"

The engine in my tummy began revving as I woke up after 2 hours.

After having some meat and bamboo-mint juice,I began to check the seals of all the manga I made since 9.

(Do I even need to explain every step of the journey?🫤)

"1 hour till we reach Japanese soil..please be patient...(Japanese translation).

The worms in my abdomen decided to fill the tank.

I wanted to go help myself but the Lavatory sign was red...and by the time it was green...I bet the tank would have burst.

Once it was Green...I channeled my "nonchalance" and went...but i was stopped by the Hostess....saying I need a ticket...before handing me one..It was no 50....and the current one is 45.

Guy 45 was clenching his guts...Oh God🥲

After a long line of beastmen and kids...no.50 finally reached.

I imagined a scene where i was in a manga bleeding and the thing that will keep me alive is at reach as the lavoratory...as my hand was reaching the handle...

As we wondered what happened....we felt a downward descent then grinding vibration texture as the hover train seemed to have turned off at peak speed......the crash was trying to shake the hovertrain around...but we grabbed a solid structure as I used more of my willpower to ensure the tank doesn't leak while my heart beats.

The train twisted and turned like a snake thrown straight in the air.

When the crash stopped,......

My Second Chance

kitkatbar29: So this first book in this series I liked. A good plot that flowed well for the most part with some twists along the way, good well developed characters... there are a few technical mistakes, but nothing to harsh. I must say toward the end of the book there were some issues with like a quick change ...
