SUMMER BREAK

The sweetest honey is loathsome in its own deliciousness,and the taste,confounds the appetite,therefore,love moderately,Romeo and Juliet,act 2, scene 6,Hmmh,love moderately,did Shakespeare really think you could control how deep you fall for someone? did he really believe that a heart was something one could pour in a measuring cup and stop at the two third?turns out Shakespeare was actually right,some people do control how deep they fall,unlike me,some people could really love moderately.I'm not supposed to judge anyone because everyone has there story,but I do have the right to narrate my side of the story.Summers were the most existing times of every year,infact even an introvert like me loved summer,not because I had plans or anything,no,it's because summer was the time I got to spend some time with my self,the time I got to have my alone time because that's the only time I was actually free from my small circle.My little sister had summer camp,not that I didn't love her or anything,no,I loved Harmony,she was literally my otherhalf but she doesn't have to know I said that,she wouldn't let me rest if she knew,I loved her but I actually loved my space much more,and space was never in Harmony's dictionary,then I have a best friend too,the only friend I had,my best friend,her name is Asia,not the continent the name,but I loved to call her Sia,so Sia was actually spending the summer at her grandmother's place,well technically,she spent all summers at the countryside since her parents believed it was healthy for a growing child to spend every summer away from all Millwood drama with her grand parents,yes,that the name of our home town Millwood.I'm not that much occupied with myself,I had a boyfriend too,Wes,but the fun part was Wes wasn't going to be around either,not that I didn't like Wes,no,I liked him but,he could be intense sometimes and like I said,I really wanted a drama free summer and thank God,Wes was going to California for a film production,good for his internship I guess,as rude as I'm going to sound,I really didn't care.My dad was away on a business trip so the only person I had was my mum,but luckily,she is a cool mum,that's pretty much my circle,those were the people in my life.I was writing my novel because time was due when I had a knock on my door,wait,I thought mum went out what was she doing on my door."Its open"I said then I saw my little sister on the door step.

"Harm,what are you doing here,aren't you going for summer camp?"I was more disappointed than surprised and unfortunately that little devil somehow always read my face.

"How dare you,I thought you'd be happy we get to have the whole summer together."she said disappointed.

"Sorry,I forget someone reads my face like a book,okay,you know what, I'm so happy you decide to stay this summer,but seriously,why?I thought you loved summer camp because you get to spend more time with Walker."Walker was Harmony's boyfriend,yeah,as young as my little sister was,she always seemed to have everything figured out,her social life and educational life were both balanced and I know she was only twelve but I went to her most of the time for advice,she was so smart.

"Walker and I broke up,I think we've just outgrown each other,he thinks I'm a baby,look at me,I'm growing boobs,and turning thirteen in two months but he still bought me a Cinderella castle,who does that for thirteen year old."she said and I looked at her, what did she mean outgrown,Harmony was so funny and there was no way I couldn't laugh when I was with her.

"That's not a reason to break up,you and Walker started dating while you were six,you know, technically in some countries,you guys are actually married."I said then she looked at me disgusted.

"Okay,gross,and I'm not married,I'm a girl with needs,if Walker doesn't satisfy me,I'm allowed to find someone who does."she had such a small body and a brain too big for it,I wondered where some words normally came from.

"Stop growing up too first Harmony,you are still my little sister,."I said then she smiled.

"Anyways,I was going out for I scream you wanna come?"she asked.

"I'm sorry,I can't I need to finish this novel,it's due tomorrow,rain check?"I said then she smiled.

"Okay,then,you want anything."she asked.

"No,I'm good"I said.

"Okay but remember,this is summer not some book holiday,have some fun,don't be so nerdy,it's creepy."she said the one thing she had actually come to say from the beginning.

"Harmony,just close my door when you live."I said now pissed.

"Okay siz,see you."she said then she left.

I took a big sigh then I continued writing,I wrote for almost four hours non stop then I decide I actually needed Ice cream,I took my headphones and headed out.I was walking while listening to my favorite Novel when someone tapped me on the shoulder the I turned to look at him,our eyes met and for a minute I got the most fantastic feeling,a feeling I clearly knew was wrong but I still decide to feel it,that was the first mistake I ever made .He was saying something and I was so lost.I removed my headphones.

"You dropped this."it was my necklace,it probably fell off my neck.

"Oh,thank you,sorry,I get so distracted by this."I said then he smiled,God,he had such a beautiful smile,I could believe my thoughts at that moment.

"Yeah,those distract me too,it a novel,right."he said then I nodded,then made my first rude step,I put my headphones back on and I saw his lips move I think he was trying to tell me his name, he extended his hand but I walked away.I know what you must be thinking,that was so rude,I knew it too but this summer,I just wanted to focus more on writing and less boy drama,I went, got my ice cream then went back home,my mom and Harmony where not back yet so I went to my room and told myself to rest for five minutes.

"Nicky,wake up.!"that's the next thing I had,it was Harmony,my room was so dark which meant it was already night,she switched my lights on.

"Have you been sleeping since I left?"she asked.

"Of course not, Harmony ,I was writing when you left,I went out for ice cream then came back and slept."I said as I rubbed my eyes.

"Come on down stairs it's time for dinner."she told me.

"I don't think I'm having dinner,I had a lot of ice cream,tell mom I'm skipping."I said.

"Are you okay?"she sat next to me and looked at me with a concerned face.

"Yeah,I'm okay,I'm just moody I guess."I said I knew she wasn't convinced but she still didn't push it.

"Okay,night Nicky,I love you,and in case you wanna keep things from me, remember you are stuck with me all summer,you have no choice,I'm next door if you need me"she said.

"I'm supposed to be the big sister Harm,now go to bed and don't wake me up,I love you."she then went locked my door and left,I took my pillow and covered my face, mystery guy was on my mind no matter what I did,I couldn't stop thinking about him,I did what my best friend Sia always told me,just let it in,then you can have a peace of mind,I let him in and I actually got some sleep,I wished I met him again but again I never wanted to see him again,so what was it going to be?
