Ocean Blue Eyes

The rain was incessantly hitting Rose's bedroom window; the sound of the rain was soothing, but for some it was a great disturbance. Rose woke up around 3 a.m. The only sound around her was the rain. She didn't know why she woke up, but she felt thirsty. She slowly sat up in bed, put on her slippers on her bare feet, and carelessly slipped on her dressing gown. The door creaked open and closed. Rose found no servants around.

"Why is there no one around?" She whispered, her voice loud enough only for herself to hear.

Rose walked downstairs to the kitchen and looked outside while drinking water, noticing a movement. She placed her glass on the table with a slight clatter, approached the window, and saw a pair of blue eyes in the bushes. They were clearly blue because the torchlight was shining directly into the bushes. Rose was about to scream in fear when the head maid, Sofia, appeared from behind her. Heather, the young maid who looked after Rose that morning, opened the curtains, sunlight streamed in, and Rose woke up.

"Good morning, Your Majesty. Our King (your father) is very busy today and will not be able to join you for breakfast. Your violin lesson will begin at 12 noon," she said with a warm smile, bowing and straightening up.

Then she helped Rose get dressed in a beautiful red lace, puffy dress and pearl jewelry. They sprayed Rose's perfume on her chest, neck, and wrists, styled her short hair, and placed a beautiful, elegant tiara on her head. Rose's day was boring; no matter what she tried to focus on, she wondered who the person in the garden was. As she sat on the throne, the maid Heather came and, after bowing and straightening up, began to speak in a clear voice.

"Your Majesty, I notice you are bored. Would you like the court jester to entertain you? I've heard he performs some excellent magic tricks. "

"Hmm... okay, let him come."

The door opened and the jester entered. Rose froze; those same ocean-blue eyes...
