Summary

A Beautiful Kind of Ruin At Corer University, secrets are currency, reputations are carefully constructed lies, and some truths are worth destroying lives to keep buried. Jasmine Blackwood has spent five years living with one unanswered question: what really happened to her older brother? One day, his university records vanished, his scholarship was sealed, and everyone who once knew him seemed determined to forget he ever existed. Then an anonymous email arrives with a chilling message: “Ask Corer what happened in Room 17.” Following the clue leads Jasmine to a hidden file, a photograph of four students with one face violently scratched out, and a warning that changes everything. Her brother's name is on a mysterious list—and beneath it is hers. Enter Ivan Corer: wealthy, untouchable, infuriatingly handsome, and heir to the family that holds Corer University in its grasp. He knows more than he's willing to admit, and he has every reason to keep Jasmine away from the truth. But the deeper she digs, the harder it becomes to tell whether Ivan is her greatest enemy, her only ally, or the one person capable of breaking her heart. As anonymous messages grow more threatening and the secrets surrounding Room 17 begin to unravel, Jasmine must decide how much she is willing to sacrifice for answers. Because at Corer University, people don't simply disappear. They are erased. And falling for the wrong person might be the most dangerous secret of all. Some secrets are meant to stay buried. But what happens when the truth knows your name?

The courtyard behind her was empty, washed silver beneath the moonlight. Beyond the iron gates, the university's clock tower rose against a sky heavy with clouds. Its four faces gleamed above the rooftops, counting down the minutes as if time itself belonged to the institution.

Jasmine exhaled.
