Chapter 1

"Bye Auntie" I said giving my aunt a juicy kiss on her cheek.

"Ew" she said wiping her cheek with the back of her palm.

"You hurt my feelings" I said with a mock hurt expression, my hand over my heart.

"Oh please". She said. "Don't get in trouble this time".

"Pfft, me?, when do I ever get in trouble?". I asked while trying to sneakily steal a cookie.

Swatting my hand with the spatula, she replied "in the last school and the school before that and the school before that..."

"Ok, ok, I get it"

"So, no fights this time?". She asks with hope in her hazel eyes.

"Scouts honor". I said with a mock salute

."Look at the time, gotta go bye".i said running out and hopping on my baby. she's gonna be so mad.

'Northern Brook high'. i muttered. well here goes nothing

I strolled through he gates into the receptionists office, a woman who looks like she's seen all there is to life looks at me a if im in my pjs and sneered.

'name?' she asked peering at mee from the top of her rimless, ancient glasses.

'Emily summers ma'am'. i replied suddenly feeling like getting the hell outta dodge but my aunt will whoop my ass. with a sigh of defeat, i took my schedule from the woman's bony hand.

It's official, I'm lost, it's not my fault map reading is so hard. im about to take a turn when i bump into something, no someone. i know you're thinking thiss is one of those cliche scenes in high school movies where the main characters run into each other and they fall in love, you couldn't have been more wrong, because, guys dont screech. I'm so fucked.

'OMG, you bitch, you spilled latte on my top, do you know how much this costs?'

BITCH?!

Inner fucking peace

I took a deep breath and replied 'im so sorry, i wasn't paying attention'.

'Of course you weren't' she says eyeing me and her riends snickered. i could see a crowd forming and the last thing  i wanted was to cause a scene.

'Im sorry'. i muttered.

'YOU RUINED MY LIMITED EDITION CHANEL TOP'. she screeches, her voice sounding like nails on a chalkboard.

'Sorry'. i say again and try to walk away.

'I bet she can't afford it, take a look at what she's wearing' she said laughing and her friends join.

'I bet if you had used a little less mascara you'd have seen me coming, also your shirt looks like it came from a thrift shop at 20% off'.

Everyone froze

Did i just say all that?

I watched Mcfoundation go red. i didn't think it was possible under all those layers.

'DO YOU KNOW WHO MY FATHER IS?'. Her voice rose up a pitch.

'didn't your mum tell you?' I retorted. you ust be thinking 'old line' i know but that seemed to shut her up, making her gape like a fish and turning even redder.

' I'll make you pay' she says storming past me.

' I'll be waiting, princess'. i winked as everyone laughed. she just flicked her hair and walked away.

WHAT HAVE I DONE?!

"Mcfoundation" is going to live in my head forever. Emily promises her aunt no fights, then lasts about ten minutes before telling the Chanel girl her shirt looks like it came from a thrift shop at 20% off?! I gasped. Small tip: the dialogue switches between single and double quotes, and a lot of "i" stays lowercase, so a quick pass on those would let your jokes hit even harder.

PARIS IN THE DARK

Hester: Very good, was short too the point , not lingering on the abuse, pity you didn’t let him step in earlier knowing the abuse was happening, but this is almost real for some women who have gone through it, just wish they could all have a princess at te end of thete tunnel
