"I try to live in black and white, but I'm so blue."

The place smelled like sweat, expensive vodka, hot bodies, and bad decisions.
𝘉𝘢𝘥 𝘥𝘦𝘤𝘪𝘴𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘴.
I'd mastered those.
I slid through the heaving throng as the music pounded through the smoke-filled room casting a cheap neon glow across it. Fucking nasty. To say this was one of the most expensive clubs in the city.
I pushed the moist strands sticking to my neck over my shoulder, eyes trailing across the floor. My skin was glistening with sweat. It was too hot for me despite the little black dress that clung to my body like second skin.
I blinked before my eyes zoomed in on my destination.
Before I knew it, my feet were already leading me toward it. I had no time to waste. But on the way, I suddenly collided with someone, the unexpected impact made me spin around.
My eyes collided with a pair of honey-brown ones.
The owner of those eyes was a fairly attractive man with pale skin and dark hair. My eyes drifted toward the man's satin shirt that was half tugged out, the rolex shining around his wrist and the pure silver around his neck.
His eyes weren't subtle as they moved over my frame in one leisure motion. I was aware he was checking me out. He wasn't trying to hide it, and I can't really blame him.
I 𝘬𝘯𝘦𝘸 I looked ravishing.
"My bad." He murmured, his voice clear and steady despite the loud music.
"Couldn't see?" I cocked a brow.
He clicked his tongue and took a step closer. "It's hard to miss a sight as exquisite."
I mentally smirked. It was almost too easy.
"Careful. It's a privilege."
"Most people respond with gratitude or a compliment back."
"Perhaps you should've just briefed me that you were fishing for compliments." I let my eyes trail down his well-build body with no plans of subtlety. "I see a comely sight myself."
His smirk widened, eyes shining with amusement and interest.
As if on cue, the lights of the room dimmed into an ugly shade of pink, and rhythm changed to something slow and sensual. Within moments, the dance floor was dotted with pairs.
The stranger forwarded a palm. "Shall we?"
I don't see a reason why not.
𝘚𝘵𝘳𝘢𝘯𝘨𝘦𝘳 𝘥𝘢𝘯𝘨𝘦𝘳. A voice sonewhere in the back of my mind warned.
A warning that I knew wasn't for me.
I placed my hand in his as he pulled me toward a corner, hands finding their way to my waist as he pulled me closer. Mine found his shoulder as we moved as the music demanded.
"Are you usually found in such places?" He whispered, leaning toward my ear.
"Depends."
"On what?"
"My mood." 𝘈𝘯𝘥 𝘮𝘺 𝘤𝘶𝘳𝘳𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘧𝘪𝘯𝘢𝘯𝘤𝘪𝘢𝘭 𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘵𝘶𝘴.
A smooth, rich chuckle escaped him as he spun me around before pulling me closer.
"You sure are one of a kind."
"Well, you're a commonly found species."
"Am I?" The amusement in his eyes multiplied.
"Uh huh. Random men to hit on you aren't hard to find."
His brows raised, but he didn't look offended. "In their defense, who'd want to pass on such a beautiful lady."
"On the contrary, men swarm around the first girl who look their way."
"Quick with judgment, aren't you?" His thumb caressed the side of my hip as his intense gaze bore into mine.
"I prefer having an opinion." I spoke, letting my hand trail over his lower back.
"Have you formed an opinion about me yet?" He leaned closer, his breath dancing along the line of my neck.
I could smell the thick scent of his cologne, something rich and musky.
"Perhaps." I murmured.
"I don't like uncertain answers."
"Too bad."
The light went off for a second before it changed to a blazing blue. I used that opportunity to slip away, disappearing in the crowd. The club was huge and packed enough for my benefit.
As I reached the exit, a cold wind brushed past my skin, making a chill run down my spine. I inhaled a sharp breath. Brows furrowed as I glanced around myself, trying to escape the feeling of being watched.
Did someone see me?
Ignoring it, I breezed out.
Stopping in a lone alley a few blocks from the club, I glanced around before pulling out the durable leather wallet that might or might not have slipped its way in my hand during a certain dance.
Let's see what the universe decided to throw my way this time.
Honestly, poor man. He was just someone who got caught in the crossfire by bumping into his own downfall. He wasn't originally the subject of my tonight's activity.
Inside it, I found some cards and IDs that were of no use to me. What I did find useful was the bundle of money. The smell of fresh notes hit me like nostalgia. Tossing aside the wallet and cards, I counted the money.
Ten-fucking-thousand.
In cash.
A derisive chuckle escaped me, followed by a delighted smirk.
𝘞𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘢 𝘧𝘰𝘰𝘭.
Men showing how stupid they really are never failed to amuse me.
I tucked the bundle in the hidden pocket of my dress and made my way out, still trying to ignore the feeling of being watched. Perhaps, taking that shot was a bad idea. I need to sleep it off.

It was three hours past midnight.
Ideally, I should be asleep right now. But I wasn't.
I watched as the mansion's lights cast a warm glow across the lawn-lined avenues and the huge italian cypresses, sitting on the grass in front of my cabinet.
The lights didn't fall near the cabinet across the backside of the grand mansion. The backside was divided into two parts. One for the servant's quarters and the other was for me.
I appreciated the barrier that prevented me from seeing the ass-licking servants' faces.
I took another puff, letting the smoke ground the burning rage inside me.
The warmth didn't reach me.
Neither did I want that shallow warmth.
But it wasn't fair.
Why do those people get to live in that huge-ass mansion while I have to rot in this cabinet? Why do they get the luxury, and I don't? What do they have that I don't? Why, when we share the same spermdonor?
That fucking spermdonor of mine. This is all because of him.
Once. Just once.
I wish on every fucking dandelion, every shooting star, every fallen lashes, to let me burn that mansion down to ashes once in this lifetime before I die. I want to party while that place crumbles to its ruin.
My stomach growled in hunger, but it stopped hurting a long time ago.
Food wasn't constant.
Good thing, I made some money earlier.
I can get up and grab a meal. But food didn't appetize me anymore.
Hunger was a minor inconvenience now.
Food was just a necessity I needed every now and then to keep my body moving.
That bitch—the head maid—brought it on rare occasions, precisely when the mansion's eldest heir was in the town, and expected me to thank her for it because, apparently, being my spermdonor's toy gave her privileges.
I extinguished the cigarette and laid back down on the cold grass and closed my eyes.
One day.
I'll rise above them.
So high, that people will pray for my downfall.
Powerful enough to crush all of them under my Louboutin heels while they beg for mercy.
One day... 𝘐’𝘭𝘭 𝘢𝘷𝘦𝘯𝘨𝘦 𝘩𝘦𝘳.
