Chapter 1: The Girl Who Begged to Be Released

"Please let me go! I haven't done anything wrong!"

Ayesha's trembling voice broke through the silence of the luxurious room.

Her fingers clutched the edge of the door as she desperately tried to pull it open. Tears rolled down her cheeks, and her hazel eyes searched the room for a way out.

"Please, sir. I want to go home."

Seth Javed sat comfortably on the sofa, watching her with an expression that made her heart pound harder.

"Why are you making such a scene, girl?" he asked coldly. "You were sent here to serve me."

"I came here to serve dinner!" Ayesha cried. "I never agreed to stay in this room!"

Her voice cracked.

She took a frightened step backward when he stood up.

"Don't come near me."

But he continued walking toward her.

Ayesha turned toward the door again.

Before she could reach it, a voice suddenly echoed from outside.

"Open this door!"

The voice was deep, sharp, and filled with anger.

Seth Javed stopped.

Ayesha's head snapped toward the sound.

"Mustafa..."

The name escaped her lips like a desperate prayer.

The door opened with a forceful movement.

Mustafa Khan stood there.

His dark eyes immediately found Ayesha.

Her tear-stained face.

Her trembling hands.

The fear in her eyes.

For one terrible second, Mustafa forgot how to breathe.

Then his gaze moved toward Seth Javed.

"What the hell is happening here?"

Seth Javed adjusted his coat.

"Mustafa Khan. What a surprise. This is a private matter."

Mustafa stepped inside.

"Private?"

His eyes returned to Ayesha.

"Is this what you call a private matter?"

Ayesha could no longer hold herself together.

She rushed toward him and caught his arm.

"Mustafa, please take me away from here."

Her voice was barely audible.

Mustafa looked down at her.

The girl who usually lowered her eyes whenever he spoke to her was now holding him as if he were the only safe place left in the world.

His expression softened.

"Ayesha..."

She shook her head desperately.

"Please. I want to go home."

Mustafa placed his hand gently over hers.

"You're coming with me."

Seth Javed's expression darkened.

"You cannot simply take her away. I paid the manager for this arrangement."

Mustafa slowly turned toward him.

"What did you just say?"

Seth Javed smirked.

"Ask your hotel manager. He knows everything."

Mustafa's jaw tightened.

He looked at Ayesha again.

"Did someone force you to come here?"

Ayesha's tears fell faster.

She nodded.

"Manager Bilal..."

The moment she spoke that name, Mustafa's expression changed.

He had heard enough.

"Stay beside me," he told her quietly.

Then he faced Seth Javed.

"If you ever come near her again, you will regret it."

Seth Javed laughed.

"Do you think your money makes you powerful enough to threaten me?"

Mustafa's eyes remained cold.

"No."

He paused.

"But it certainly gives me the means to make sure you never forget what you did."

He took Ayesha's hand and led her toward the door.

She followed him without looking back.

For the first time that evening, she could breathe.

But the moment they stepped outside, her knees weakened.

Mustafa caught her before she could fall.

"Ayesha!"

She clutched his coat.

"I was so scared..."

Her words dissolved into sobs.

Mustafa looked at her tearful face.

His anger was still there, burning beneath his calm expression, but he forced his voice to remain gentle.

"You're safe now, Meri Jaan."

Ayesha looked up at him.

The unfamiliar words made her blink through her tears.

Mustafa wiped a tear from her cheek with his thumb.

"Nobody is going to hurt you while I'm here."

She lowered her face against his chest.

And Mustafa held her carefully.

Not because he wanted to claim her.

Not because she belonged to him.

But because, at that moment, she needed someone who would not let her fall.

---

The anniversary party was being held aboard a magnificent luxury boat.

Golden lights reflected across the water. Music drifted through the halls, and wealthy guests moved between the decorated dining areas.

Yet Mustafa could hear none of it.

His attention remained fixed on the girl standing beside him.

Ayesha's hands were still trembling.

He removed his coat and placed it around her shoulders.

"Are you cold?"

She shook her head.

"No."

"Then why are you shaking?"

Ayesha pressed her lips together.

She did not know how to explain the fear that still filled her chest.

Mustafa waited.

He did not force her to speak.

After a moment, she whispered, "Will you send me back?"

His brows drew together.

"Back where?"

"To the hotel."

Mustafa looked at her as if the question itself had hurt him.

"No."

Ayesha's eyes filled again.

"But Manager Bilal..."

"Let him deal with me."

She looked down.

"I don't want you to get into trouble because of me."

Mustafa's expression softened.

"Trouble?"

He gave a quiet, humorless laugh.

"Ayesha, I have handled business deals worth millions. Do you really think dealing with one dishonest manager will frighten me?"

She said nothing.

He leaned slightly closer, making sure she could hear him.

"Listen to me. You have done nothing wrong."

Ayesha's lower lip trembled.

"But everyone will blame me."

"Not everyone."

Mustafa's voice became firm.

"Not me."

She stared at him.

Something in those two words made her heart ache.

Not me.

For so long, she had been afraid that nobody would believe her.

Yet this man, whom she barely knew, had not asked her what she had done to deserve such treatment.

He had simply believed her.

Ayesha slowly nodded.

"Thank you."

Mustafa looked away for a moment.

He was afraid that if he continued looking into her eyes, she would see everything he was trying to hide.

The concern.

The anger.

And the strange feeling that had been growing inside him since the first time he saw her.

---

A few minutes later, Mustafa helped Ayesha sit in a quiet lounge.

He brought her a glass of water.

"Drink a little."

She accepted it with both hands.

Her fingers were cold.

Mustafa noticed.

"Are you hurt?"

"No."

"Are you sure?"

She nodded.

Then she suddenly looked at him.

"Why did you come?"

Mustafa paused.

The question was simple.

But the answer was not.

Because I could not bear the thought of losing you.

Because the sight of your tears made me forget everything else.

Because I have been searching for your smile since the first evening I saw you.

He swallowed those words.

Instead, he said, "I was looking for you."

Ayesha blinked.

"Me?"

"Yes."

"Why?"

Mustafa looked into her hazel eyes.

For a moment, he almost told her the truth.

But she was frightened.

And the last thing he wanted was to make her feel uncomfortable.

So he simply replied, "Because you disappeared."

Ayesha lowered her gaze.

"I'm sorry."

Mustafa sighed softly.

"Stop apologizing for things that aren't your fault."

She nodded.

A small silence settled between them.

Then Ayesha whispered, "Mustafa?"

"Hmm?"

"How did you know I was in that room?"

His expression grew serious.

He had been searching for her after noticing that she had not returned to the dining area.

When he asked about her, the hotel staff had become strangely quiet.

One of them finally mentioned that Manager Bilal had sent her to Seth Javed's room.

Mustafa had immediately understood that something was wrong.

But he had not expected to find her crying behind a locked door.

His hands curled into fists.

"I asked where you were."

Ayesha looked frightened again.

"Will Manager Bilal be angry?"

Mustafa's eyes hardened.

"He should be worried about himself."

---

Ayesha sat quietly while Mustafa made a phone call.

His voice was controlled, but the anger beneath it was unmistakable.

"I want to know everything about Manager Bilal."

A pause.

"No. I don't want excuses."

Another pause.

"Find out why he sent Ayesha into that room. And make sure she receives every payment she is owed."

He ended the call.

Ayesha looked at him nervously.

"You don't have to do all this for me."

Mustafa turned toward her.

"Why not?"

"Because..."

She struggled to find the right words.

"I'm only a waitress."

Mustafa stared at her.

Then he slowly shook his head.

"You're a person, Ayesha."

His voice softened.

"And nobody has the right to treat you as if you are less than that."

Her eyes filled with tears again.

This time, Mustafa did not look away.

He wanted her to understand that he meant every word.

---

The boat moved gently across the dark water.

Ayesha watched the lights outside the window.

She was still afraid.

But she was no longer alone.

Mustafa sat beside her, quietly giving her the time she needed.

After a while, she spoke.

"Can I ask you something?"

"Anything."

"Why are you helping me?"

Mustafa's heart tightened.

He looked at her innocent face.

Then, very quietly, he answered.

"Because I care about you."

Ayesha stared at him.

She did not understand what those words meant.

Not completely.

But she understood the kindness in his voice.

And for the first time that night, her trembling hands began to relax.

Mustafa looked at her.

He had never imagined that a single person could change the meaning of an ordinary evening.

Yet here she was.

The girl whose tears had made his world stop.

The girl whose smile he had begun to wait for.

The girl he had wanted to see again and again.

And now, he knew one thing with absolute certainty.

He would never allow anyone to make her feel this helpless again.

But there was something Mustafa did not know.

This night was not the beginning of Ayesha's suffering.

It was only the moment he finally discovered it.

Because two months earlier...

Ayesha Sadiq had been living a very different life.

A life filled with small hopes, family responsibilities, and a quiet dream of making her mother proud.

And it was in that life...

That Mustafa Khan first saw her.
