EPISODE 1 — A WORLD BEYOND HER WINDOW

SCENE 1: THE GIRL WHO HAD NEVER BEEN FREE

Jin Mi was a beautiful young girl blessed with extraordinary powers. However, despite possessing abilities that many people could only dream of, she had one major problem.

She didn’t know how to control them.

Her parents, Li Chu and his wife, had kept her locked away for years because they feared what might happen if her powers got out of control. They wanted to protect her from danger, but their protection had also kept her away from the outside world.

Jin Mi had spent most of her life within the walls of her home. She knew very little about the world beyond them and had hardly met anyone apart from her personal maid, Chu Yue, whom she regarded more like a sister than a servant.

Her parents had kept her locked up until she grew older. Now, Jin Mi was tired of living the same life every day.

She wanted to see the world.

She wanted to meet people, visit beautiful places, and experience the things other young girls enjoyed.

Most importantly, she wanted her parents to stop treating her like a little child.

One morning, Jin Mi finally decided to speak to them.

Jin Mi: Mother, Father, can I please go outside today?

Li Chu raised his head and looked at his daughter.

Li Chu: You want to go outside?

Jin Mi: Yes, Father. Please! I just want to take a little walk. I won’t go far, I promise.

Her father remained silent for a moment, considering her request.

Before he could respond, her mother spoke.

Jin Mi’s Mother: Please, just let her go. She’s no longer that little child. She’s all grown up now.

Jin Mi immediately turned towards her mother, her eyes filled with hope.

Jin Mi: Mother, you really mean it?

Jin Mi’s Mother: Yes, dear. But you must be careful, understand?

Jin Mi: I understand! Thank you, Mother!

She smiled brightly, unable to hide her excitement.

After spending so many years indoors, even the thought of walking outside felt like a dream coming true.

Li Chu: Very well. You may go, but don’t cause any trouble. And make sure Chu Yue stays with you.

Jin Mi: I will, Father! I promise!

Jin Mi hurried away to prepare, hardly able to contain her happiness.

For the first time in a long while, she felt as though her world was finally opening up.

But she had no idea how much this little outing would mean for her future.

SCENE 2: SHI YING AND ZI FENG

Elsewhere, Shi Ying, an orphan, lived with his closest friend, Zi Feng.

Despite the difficulties of his past, Shi Ying had managed to build a life for himself. He and Zi Feng shared a close friendship, and the two often spent time together.

One day, they decided to visit Zi Feng’s aunt’s restaurant.

The restaurant was expected to be busy, and they were willing to help her sell the food.

Shi Ying: Zi Feng, where are we going?

Zi Feng: My aunt’s restaurant. There will be plenty of dumplings today, and we can help her sell them.

Shi Ying nodded.

Shi Ying: Oh, okay.

The two friends soon arrived at the restaurant.

As expected, there were people moving around, and the delicious smell of freshly prepared food filled the air.

Zi Feng greeted his aunt before turning to Shi Ying.

Zi Feng: Let’s help her out.

Shi Ying: All right.

While Zi Feng attended to a few things, Shi Ying looked around the restaurant.

He was familiar with Zi Feng’s aunt and knew she was a good cook. He was already looking forward to tasting whatever she had prepared that day.

SCENE 3: A SPECIAL MEAL

Not long after they arrived, Jin Mi and Chu Yue also came to the restaurant.

For Jin Mi, everything around her felt new and exciting. She looked around curiously, taking in the sights and sounds.

She was finally outside, experiencing a little of the freedom she had long wished for.

As they settled in, the madam approached their table.

Madam: Miss, what would you like to eat? We have fresh dumplings today. They’re delicious!

Jin Mi’s face brightened.

Jin Mi: Dumplings? That sounds wonderful! I would love some.

She glanced around the restaurant, still fascinated by everything.

Jin Mi: And… what else do you have?

Chu Yue: What would you like again?

Jin Mi leaned back in her seat, thinking for a moment.

Jin Mi: Nothing much. I just want to enjoy myself today.

Meanwhile, Zi Feng and Shi Ying were nearby, helping with the restaurant’s customers.

Shi Ying’s attention was drawn to Jin Mi’s cheerful expression. She seemed genuinely excited about something as simple as eating at a restaurant.

After a while, Zi Feng approached their table.

Zi Feng: Miss, if you like, I can ask my aunt to prepare a special meal for you. Once you taste her cooking, you’ll want to come back again!

Jin Mi looked at him with interest.

Jin Mi: Really? All right! Please ask her to prepare it. I’m so happy!

Her excitement made Zi Feng smile.

Zi Feng: Are you new here?

Jin Mi: Something like that.

Zi Feng glanced towards Shi Ying, who was standing nearby.

Zi Feng: You see my friend over there? He’s a good cook, too.

Jin Mi followed his gaze.

Jin Mi: Really? Then I can’t wait to taste his wonderful cooking!

Shi Ying heard her comment and smiled faintly.

Soon, the special meal was ready.

Shi Ying helped ensure that the food was brought to the table, and Jin Mi eagerly began to enjoy it.

Shi Ying: I’m done. I hope you enjoy the meal!

Jin Mi looked delighted as she tasted the food.

For someone who had spent so much of her life confined to her home, the experience was more than just an ordinary meal. It was another small taste of the world she had always wanted to explore.

SCENE 4: A WALK THROUGH THE STREETS

After finishing their meal, Jin Mi and Chu Yue left the restaurant.

The streets outside were filled with activity, and Jin Mi couldn’t stop looking around.

Everything seemed beautiful to her.

Jin Mi: Chu Yue, look at that place! It’s so beautiful!

Chu Yue smiled at her excitement.

Chu Yue: All right. Let’s take our time. We don’t have to rush.

Jin Mi nodded happily.

Jin Mi: Let’s go!

The two continued walking until Jin Mi noticed a stall selling noodles.

Her eyes immediately lit up.

Jin Mi: Chu Yue, let’s buy some noodles!

Chu Yue hesitated.

Chu Yue: Jin Mi, your parents said we shouldn’t eat outside too much. Let’s not disobey your father.

Jin Mi’s smile faded slightly.

Jin Mi: But they disrespected me by keeping me locked in my room for so many years. I don’t want to spend my entire life following every rule without experiencing anything for myself.

She looked towards the noodle stall again.

Jin Mi: Besides, maybe these noodles will taste even better than the ones they usually make for me at home.

Chu Yue sighed, knowing how much her friend wanted to enjoy her newfound freedom.

Chu Yue: All right, my lady. But let’s not stay out too long. We don’t want to cause unnecessary trouble.

Jin Mi smiled again.

Jin Mi: Thank you, Chu Yue! You’re the best!

The two bought their noodles and continued exploring the streets.

As they walked, Jin Mi talked excitedly about all the places she wanted to visit and the different foods she wanted to try.

Chu Yue listened patiently, occasionally reminding her to be careful.

For once, Jin Mi wasn’t thinking about the walls that had confined her for years.

She was simply enjoying her freedom.

SCENE 5: ONE MORE STOP

After walking for some time, Jin Mi began thinking about what else she could eat.

Jin Mi: Chu Yue, why don’t we go and have some roasted meat?

Chu Yue turned to look at her.

Chu Yue: Aren’t you full already?

Jin Mi paused.

She had eaten dumplings, enjoyed a special meal at the restaurant, and bought noodles during their walk.

Yet the thought of trying another delicious dish still excited her.

She looked at Chu Yue with an innocent smile.

Jin Mi: Just a little more?

Chu Yue stared at her for a moment before shaking her head helplessly.

Chu Yue: Jin Mi, you’re unbelievable!

Jin Mi laughed.

For the first time in years, she was enjoying an ordinary day outside her home, and she had no intention of letting it end too soon.

But while Jin Mi was busy enjoying her freedom, the world beyond her sheltered life continued moving.

There were people she had never met, places she had never seen, and events she could never have imagined.

And somewhere in that vast world, her own story was only beginning.
