Chapter 1: A Message from the Past

It was raining heavily when she picked up her phone and noticed a message from an unknown number.

She opened it.

Unknown Number: "You finally forgot me... didn't you?"

She stared at the screen for a moment before locking her phone. Slowly, she looked up at the sky.

Sometimes, it's easy to forget things we never thought we'd forget. But it's almost impossible to forget something we've always tried to forget.

And just like that, time went back two years.

Two Years Ago

It was a beautiful day on a school campus. Two college students, dressed in their uniforms, stood together, talking.

The Girl: "You know what? You'll probably forget about me in a few days."

The Boy: "That would never happen."

The Girl: "Well, okay. If not in a few days, then perhaps next year."

The Boy: "I told you, I won't. Not even after years."

She smiled.

The Girl: "Okay, we'll see then."

Months Later...

The school campus was filled with laughter during the break. Students chatted with their friends, enjoying their time together.

Among them was a group of girls, laughing as they walked down the corridor.

Just then, he passed by her from the other side, with another girl beside him.

They were both busy living their own lives, walking past each other like two strangers who knew everything about one another.

And perhaps, that's how some stories end—not with a goodbye, but with silence.

PARIS IN THE DARK

Hester: Very good, was short too the point , not lingering on the abuse, pity you didn’t let him step in earlier knowing the abuse was happening, but this is almost real for some women who have gone through it, just wish they could all have a princess at te end of thete tunnel

Ashley: I enjoyed the story. It was a short one so the fast pace fit. I think something should be put in to show a time jump between paragraphs like a "****" just to make it easier to follow when we skip to the next day week or month. Over all a good read.
