Chapter 1
THE ALPHA WHO FOUND ME BROKEN
Chapter 1: A Heart Too Kind
Adrian smiled as he watched his boyfriend struggle to fasten a necklace around his neck.
"Stay still, baby," Lucas murmured.
"I'm staying still!" Adrian protested, laughing.
"Then why are you moving?"
"Because you're pulling my hair!"
Lucas chuckled and finally fastened the necklace. He turned Adrian toward the mirror and wrapped his arms around his waist.
"There. Perfect."
Adrian admired the delicate silver necklace. "It's beautiful."
"Not as beautiful as you."
Adrian blushed. "You say that every day."
"Because you look beautiful every day."
That was Lucas. He knew exactly how to make Adrian smile.
For the past two years, Lucas had treated him like something precious. Whenever Adrian mentioned wanting something, Lucas would find a way to get it. If Adrian craved a particular meal, Lucas would order it. If he felt sad, Lucas would cancel his appointments just to stay beside him.
Sometimes, Adrian wondered what he had done to deserve so much love.
But Lucas always gave him the same answer.
"You don't have to do anything to deserve my love, baby. Just stay with me."
And Adrian believed him.
He believed every word.
---
That afternoon, Lucas took Adrian to an expensive restaurant in the heart of the city.
The restaurant was elegant, with crystal chandeliers, polished tables, and waiters dressed in spotless uniforms.
Adrian's eyes sparkled as he examined the menu.
"Lucas, can I order the chicken, the pasta, and that chocolate dessert?"
Lucas raised an eyebrow.
"All three?"
Adrian nodded slowly, giving him his most innocent expression.
"Please?"
Lucas laughed. "Order whatever you want, sweetheart. You know I won't say no to you."
Adrian clapped excitedly.
"You're the best boyfriend in the whole world!"
"I know."
"Lucas!"
"What? Am I supposed to lie?"
Adrian burst into laughter, and Lucas reached across the table to squeeze his hand.
For a while, everything was perfect.
Until a small voice interrupted them.
"Excuse me, sir."
Both men looked up.
A little boy stood beside their table. He couldn't have been older than seven. His clothes were dirty, his slippers were worn out, and his thin arms suggested that he hadn't eaten properly in days.
He looked at Lucas nervously before turning to Adrian.
"Please, can you buy me something to eat? I haven't eaten since yesterday."
Adrian's smile disappeared.
Before he could respond, Lucas frowned.
"Get away from our table!"
The boy flinched.
"Sir, please. I'm hungry."
"I said get away! Do you think this is a charity home? Go beg somewhere else!"
Several customers turned to look.
The little boy lowered his head, tears gathering in his eyes.
"I'm sorry, sir."
He turned to leave.
Adrian stared at Lucas in disbelief.
"What was that?"
Lucas reached for his glass of water. "What was what?"
"That little boy asked for food, and you chased him away!"
"Adrian, don't start. We came here to eat, not to entertain beggars."
"He's a child, Lucas!"
"And I'm not responsible for every hungry child on the street."
Adrian pulled his hand away when Lucas tried to touch it.
"I can't believe you just said that."
"Baby, you're overreacting."
"No, I'm not."
Adrian grabbed his bag and stood up.
"Where are you going?" Lucas demanded.
"To find that boy."
"Adrian, sit down."
But Adrian was already walking away.
Lucas sighed, shaking his head.
"Unbelievable."
---
Outside, Adrian searched the pavement, looking in every direction.
"Little boy?"
People walked past him without answering.
He checked the nearby shops, the roadside stalls, and even the narrow street beside the restaurant.
Finally, he spotted a small figure sitting behind a closed shop, hugging his knees.
"There you are!"
The boy immediately stood up, frightened.
"I'm sorry! I won't beg there again!"
Adrian's heart broke.
"No, sweetheart. I'm not angry with you."
He crouched in front of him.
"What's your name?"
"Daniel."
"That's a beautiful name, Daniel."
The boy stared at him cautiously.
Adrian opened his bag and took out a packet of biscuits he had bought earlier. Then he remembered the restaurant's takeaway counter and hurried back to purchase a proper meal, a bottle of water, and some sweets.
When he returned, Daniel's eyes widened.
"For me?"
"Of course, for you."
Adrian handed him the food and water.
"Eat slowly, okay? Don't hurt your stomach."
Daniel nodded eagerly and began eating.
Adrian watched him quietly, feeling a strange ache in his chest.
When the boy finished, Adrian gave him some money.
"Keep this somewhere safe. You can use it to get something to eat tomorrow, too."
Daniel stared at the money before looking up at him.
"Why are you helping me?"
Adrian smiled softly.
"Because you're hungry, and I can help."
"But you don't know me."
"I don't need to know someone to care about them."
Daniel's lower lip trembled.
Then he suddenly threw his little arms around Adrian's neck.
"Thank you!"
Adrian hugged him back, gently patting his head.
"You're welcome, sweetheart."
He gave Daniel the sweets and waited until the boy had calmed down before standing.
"Take care of yourself, Daniel."
"I will!"
Adrian waved and walked back toward the restaurant, unaware that someone had witnessed the entire scene.
Someone who had been watching him from the moment he left the building.
Someone whose name alone could make powerful men tremble.
---
Inside a black luxury car parked across the street, a man sat silently in the back seat.
Damien Blackwood.
The most feared alpha in the city.
His reputation was built on power, wealth, and a merciless nature. Businessmen feared disappointing him, rivals feared crossing him, and even other alphas thought twice before challenging him.
He wasn't a man who concerned himself with strangers.
Yet, for the past several minutes, his attention had remained fixed on one particular omega.
The one who had left an expensive restaurant to search for a hungry child.
The one who had spent his own money feeding a stranger.
The one who had hugged that child as though he were someone precious.
Damien's dark eyes followed Adrian until he disappeared through the restaurant doors.
"Find out who he is," he ordered quietly.
His driver glanced at him through the mirror.
"Who, sir?"
Damien gave him a cold look.
"Do I need to repeat myself?"
"No, sir."
The driver immediately lowered his head.
Damien looked through the window again.
He couldn't explain why the omega had caught his attention.
Perhaps it was his kindness.
Perhaps it was the way he smiled at the little boy.
Or perhaps it was the strange warmth Damien had felt in his chest when he witnessed something so simple.
Whatever it was, he wanted to know more.
And for the first time in a very long while, Damien Blackwood found himself curious about someone who had absolutely no idea he existed.
A faint smile touched his lips.
"Interesting."
He had no intention of hurting the omega.
If anything, he wanted to see that beautiful smile again.
And Adrian had no idea that the most dangerous alpha in the city had just taken an interest in him.
[Author's POV: Adrian went looking for one hungry little boy and accidentally caught the attention of a terrifying alpha. Meanwhile, Lucas is probably still wondering why his boyfriend abandoned an expensive meal. Lucas, please prepare yourself. The story hasn't even started properly! 😂🖤]
