What's broken 💔
Sarah thought she had finally found true love when she met Daniel. He was everything she had ever wished for. He made her laugh when she was sad, listened to her problems and promised never to leave her.
Their love story began beautifully. They spent time together, shared secrets and talked about their future. Daniel always told Sarah, "No matter what happens, I will always choose you."
Sarah believed every word.
However, things slowly began to change. Daniel started ignoring her calls and replying to her messages hours later. Whenever Sarah asked what was wrong, he always had an excuse.
At first, she blamed herself. She wondered whether she had done something wrong or whether she was no longer the person Daniel wanted.
One Friday evening, Sarah decided to visit Daniel. When she arrived, she saw him sitting with another girl. They were laughing and behaving like two people who shared something special.
Sarah stood there, confused and heartbroken.
"Daniel!" she called.
He turned around and immediately became uncomfortable.
"Sarah, what are you doing here?" he asked.
She looked at him with tears in her eyes.
"I came to see the person who promised never to hurt me. But I think I have lost him."
Daniel tried to explain, but Sarah had heard enough. She turned around and walked away.
That night, Sarah could not sleep. Memories of their beautiful moments kept returning to her mind. She remembered his promises, his sweet words and the dreams they had planned together.
The following morning, Daniel called her repeatedly, but she refused to answer.
Days turned into weeks, and weeks turned into months. Sarah slowly began rebuilding her life. She concentrated on her education, spent time with her family and surrounded herself with people who genuinely cared about her.
One afternoon, while walking home, she received a message from Daniel.
"Sarah, I know I made mistakes. I miss you, and I wish we could go back to how things used to be."
She read the message several times.
A part of her wanted to forgive him, but another part reminded her of everything she had been through.
She finally replied:
"Daniel, I once prayed that we would never become strangers. But sometimes the people we love the most teach us the hardest lessons. I forgive you, but I cannot return to a place where I lost my happiness."
She put her phone away and continued walking.
For the first time in a long while, Sarah felt peaceful.
She finally understood that broken trust, broken promises and broken relationships could leave painful memories, but they did not have to determine her future.
Sometimes, the biggest question is not who broke your heart, but what you choose to do with the pieces of your life afterward.
THE END.
